Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase Unveils Exciting New Titles for Switch 2
This morning, Nintendo rolled out its first Indie World Showcase of 2026, marking the fourth Nintendo Direct of the year. This 18-minute presentation revealed a plethora of indie games set to launch on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.
Key Announcements and Shadow Drops
While some anticipated announcements, such as the release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrows DLC and the Vampire Crawlers release, did not materialize, the showcase was still packed with intriguing reveals.
One highlight was the unexpected launch of Blue Prince, which is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2. The event also featured another surprise release: Rotwood, a side-scrolling co-op brawler from Klei Entertainment. Having been in early access on PC since April 2024, Rotwood also transitioned out of early access with its Switch 2 debut today.
Upcoming Releases to Watch
Among the anticipated titles showcased were the release date announcements for Ratatan, a spiritual successor to the acclaimed Patapon. This title, which entered early access on PC in September 2025, officially launches on multiple platforms—including PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC—on July 16, 2026.
Furthermore, two games previously spotlighted during the Steam Next Fest for their demos, Outbound and Denshattack!, secured their release dates as well.Outbound will be available on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S starting April 23, 2026. Meanwhile, Denshattack! is set to launch on June 17, 2026.
Additionally, The Midnight Walk is scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26, 2026. The renowned Toronto-based Drinkbox Studios, known for hits like Guacamelee! and Nobody Saves the World, showcased their upcoming title, Blighted, which is expected to arrive in Fall 2026 on the Switch 2.
