“I’m talking about mainstream” – Triple H and Shawn Michaels haven’t gotten any talent over, says ex-WWE writer

Despite the new regime taking over the WWE in 2022, Triple H and Shawn Michaels have continued to revolutionize the company behind the scenes. However, according to Vince Russo, their impact on promoting talent has been lacking since their arrival on the main roster.

The developmental brand, NXT, has been instrumental in shaping the future, as it is often responsible for promoting new talent and creating new stars for the company. Under Vince McMahon’s creative direction, WWE has seen the rise of numerous superstars and megastars in the past.

Despite Vince Russo’s opinion, he believes that Triple H and Shawn Michaels, as the creative heads, have not successfully elevated any talent from NXT to WWE’s main roster. This was expressed during a live stream where Russo shared his thoughts on the matter.

“I got to tell you, bro. To be honest, when you look at Triple H’s and Shawn Michaels’ track record with all the talent that they’ve brought up from NXT, who has gotten over? Who has gotten over? Nobody has gotten over, bro. When I’m talking about getting over, bro, I’m talking about getting over to the casual audience. I’m not talking about getting over to wrestling marks. Everybody is over to a wrestling mark. I’m talking about mainstream, bro. I’m talking about the casual audience, and nobody that has come up from NXT has been over. That is a reflection of Triple H and Shawn Michaels,”he said. (From 29:00 to 29:58)

WWE Legend Showers Praise on Triple H and Shawn Michaels

Despite the conclusion of RETRIBUTION, T-Bar found himself in a state of uncertainty on WWE’s main roster. However, he was given a new opportunity by Triple H, who sent him back to the developmental brand under the guidance of Shawn Michaels.

After a successful rebranding as Dijak, T-Bar continued to impress fans with his performances on the developmental brand. In a highly acclaimed Asylum match against Joe Gacy, the 35-year-old star took the opportunity to express his gratitude towards The Game and The Heartbreak Kid in a heartfelt message.

“People who tell me I shouldn’t do a moonsault off the top of a cage have never been T-Bar barely treading water on Main Event & tearfully staring at my phone waiting to be fired. I don’t take a second of this for granted and I’m eternally grateful to @ShawnMichaels & @TripleH”

Dijak is scheduled to compete against Oba Femi and Josh Briggs for the North American Championship at WWE Stand & Deliver 2024.
