“I was blown away” – When Dana White detailed his experience filming the Conor McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer ‘Road House’

Dana White was excited to witness the UFC 285 weigh-ins and pay-per-view last year, where parts of Conor McGregor’s first Hollywood film, ‘Road House,’ were being filmed.

After the ceremonial weigh-ins for the event, McGregor made a surprising announcement that the audience would have a role in his debut film. Subsequently, Jake Gyllenhaal, who portrays the film’s main character, joined the actors in filming a few scenes at the venue.

During a conversation with TMZ Sports, White shared that he was pleasantly surprised by his experience while filming ‘Road House.’ The 54-year-old expressed his admiration for the film’s well-executed fight scenes.

“You know, I’m one of these guys, I don’t ever like messing with my product man. When people show up for an event, I want the event to go out perfectly without a hitch. I don’t do corny stuff in the middle like putting on concerts… But it was actually very well done. The fight footage… I was blown away by how good the fight footage looked. They did a good job.”

Set in the Florida Keys, the film follows Gyllenhaal’s character as he works as a bouncer at a roadhouse bar. The action-packed ensemble, including McGregor, constantly attacks the roadhouse throughout the film.

According to Amazon Prime, McGregor’s acting debut in the film, which was released last month, has been viewed by 50 million people worldwide. This sets a new record for the highest number of viewers for a movie exclusively available on Amazon.

McGregor recently turned to X to express his admiration for Amazon Studios and MGM Studios for the success of their films. He included the following caption in his post:

”Congrats to @amazonstudios and @mgmstudios on their @roadhousemovie becoming their most watched movie of all time! 50 million viewers over two weekends. That’s $750m at the box office. In 10 days! Insane! Congrats all the team, it was a pleasure”

Was ‘Road House’ Conor McGregor’s first acting role?

Conor McGregor made his acting debut in ‘Road House’.

Despite receiving numerous offers for movie roles over the years, ‘The Notorious’ McGregor has been unable to accept them due to his commitment to his fighting career.

The former UFC double champion’s sole acting experience was in the role of Captain Bradley Fillion in the video game ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ released in 2016, where he utilized motion capture technology.

McGregor had previously announced his passion for video games and his enjoyment of playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
