Domesticating dinos using the usual methods proves ineffective when it comes to an Oasisaur in Ark Survival Ascended. As expected from this mysteriously sentient massive floating island, taming it requires a supernatural ritual and does not involve tranquilizing it. An exclusive creature in the Frontier Adventure pack DLC for Ark Survival Ascended, the Oasisaur is an oasis island that can serve as a base.
Moreover, it is both highly mobile and durable, making it a sought-after asset for players exploring the new Scorched Earth map.
Where to Find Oasisaur in Ark Survival Ascended
An Oasisaur in Ark Survival Ascended can be easily identified by its large stature and preference for flying above the ground. They are typically found wandering the perimeter of the Scorched Earth Desert map.
Oasisaur is not included in the base game of Ark Survival Ascended, nor is it included in the Scorched Earth expansion that was released with it. In order to obtain it for your server, either you or the server host must purchase the Frontier Adventure pack, which is part of the paid Bob’s Tall Tales DLC (available for $30 on Steam).
How to Tame an Oasisaur in Ark Survival Ascended
Finding an Oasisaur is simple; however, mastering the taming process can be challenging without guidance. According to the dossier, Oasisaurs have a preference for ‘topiary’ and ‘potted shrubs.’
Although these regular tricks for taming herbivores are often taught, they are not typically useful in real-life situations. Instead, here are the necessary steps to successfully tame an Oasisaur:
- Essentially, you must offer up one of your tames as a sacrifice.
- Harvest the body of any tame creature by first killing it with a pickaxe or hatchet.
- You can then pick up the creature’s ‘Death Essence.’
- Obtain a flying creature, such as a Quetzal, to reach the Oasisaur.
- Enter the Oasis by climbing onto the back of the Oasisaur and interact with it to add the Death Essence to its inventory.
- An orb sprite with a small dino on the Oasis will be summoned, which will attract hordes of Vultures to attack it.
- The sprite is equipped with two bars, one indicating its Health and the other its Taming meter. To make progress in taming, the Taming meter must be advanced by fending off waves of Vultures, while ensuring that the Health bar does not reach zero.
- Reaching 100% progress on the Taming meter will successfully tame the Oasisaur.
The Oasisaur’s Oasis is known as a ‘fountain of youth’ as it has the power to revive fallen dinosaurs. However, the process is time-consuming and only one dino can be brought back at a time on an Oasisaur.
Dear Jane, please note that all dossiers for taming Fasolasuchus and Jerboa in Scorched Earth have been ascended in Ark Survival.
