On October 18, 2024, it was announced that Jin from BTS achieved the highest engagement for a Womenswear SS25 Instagram post, as recognized by the acclaimed French influencer marketing platform, Lefty. This information was part of their SS25 Womenswear Roundup report that aggregated data from this year’s Summer/Spring Fashion Weeks, emphasizing a minimalist approach that is revolutionizing the luxury fashion landscape.

Lefty noted that this season has seen a strategic pivot towards innovation and the establishment of significant partnerships, opting to limit the number of runway shows. This shift has significantly enhanced audience interaction, boosting Earned Media Value (EMV) to a striking $840 million. The report highlighted the influence of key personalities in achieving these impressive metrics.

For those unfamiliar, Jin was appointed as Gucci’s Global Brand Ambassador on August 7 of this year. His debut public appearance took place on September 20 at the Gucci SS25 women’s showcase, directed by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno, marking a significant milestone in his new role.

As detailed in Lefty’s findings, in collaboration with the esteemed brand-development agency Karla Otto, the K-pop star generated an impressive $7.9 million in EMV for Gucci, claiming the title for the most popular Instagram post from the runway event.

The announcement sent ARMYs (the fanbase of BTS) into a flurry on social media, celebrating the achievement of the singer of “Moon.”One fan expressed admiration for his influence, stating,

“His impact.”

Messages of congratulations are rolling in for Kim Seok-jin, also known as BTS’ Jin, celebrating his remarkable accomplishment.

“Congratulations Jin! You really did that with just one Instagram post,”a fan praised.

Another fan pointed out their astonishment at Jin achieving such results without using hashtags, merely tagging the brand in his caption,

Moreover, a report from Sprinklr on October 10 highlighted that BTS’ oldest member ranked as the top-mentioned celebrity during the SS25 Milan Fashion Week, gathering over 9.79 million mentions. Gucci was identified as the most referenced designer, with more than 6.34 million mentions.

On September 27, an earlier report from Lefty placed Jin in third place on ‘The Top Influencers of Milan Fashion Week Womenswear SS25’ list. They also compiled rankings of luxury brands that noted Gucci secured the second position, registering a remarkable 196% increase in EMV compared to the previous season.

As stated by Paris Match, referenced in a STARNEWS article from September 26, although Jin was attending his first fashion event for the MFW SS25, he attracted a significant crowd at Triennale Milano, showcasing his popularity. The publication emphasized that Gucci made the right choice in appointing the 31-year-old idol as their ambassador, considering his impactful presence.

Jin’s influence was further endorsed by journalist Alessandro Argentieri from Marie Claire Italia, who shared a reel on his official Instagram account showcasing Jin amidst a throng of fans. He called the singer of “Tonight””a truly charismatic and charming person”in his caption.

Furthermore, Jin’s popularity soared not only internationally but also domestically, dominating online forums, search engines, and social media platforms throughout South Korea, including NATE and TheQoo.

During the Gucci runway event, Jin was photographed engaging with high-profile personalities such as Sabato De Sarno and Francesca Bellettini, the CEO of Yves Saint Laurent, alongside actors like Kirsten Dunst and Gulf Kanawut. He occupied a seat in the front row alongside Dakota Johnson and François-Henri Pinault, Kering’s Chairman and CEO, which further marked his distinguished presence at the event.

In recent developments, since his discharge, Jin has secured multiple endorsements. He was named the Global Ambassador for the prestigious Korean skincare brand Laneige on September 27, following earlier announcements that he became the first-ever Global Brand Ambassador for the luxury jewelry label FRED on July 8. As of October 18, Jin has also been appointed as the Global Brand Ambassador for Alo Yoga.

On the musical side, Jin of BTS is set to release his debut solo album titled “Happy”on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2 PM KST/0 AM ET, with the pre-release single scheduled for October 25.
