A notable challenge awaits as you encounter a door secured by a Fire Blocker, a mechanism that can only be disarmed using a High-Heat Weapon. Solving the Sacred Flame Ceremony Puzzle in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Step 1: Unlock the Fire Shot
Begin your quest by unlocking the Fire Shot, which is essential for bypassing the Fire Blocker near Base Camp. Accomplish this by traversing the primary routes in Fury Green and Volt Forge. In addition, locate the Fire Chip in the accessible area of Flare Pool. Once you’ve obtained the High-Heat weapon, return to the door to dismantle the Fire Blocker.
Step 2: The Fire Shot Ring and Brazier Puzzle
After successfully unlocking the flame-locked door, you’ll enter the Sacred Flame Ceremony chamber. A quick scan of the area reveals a purple glow, indicating the activation of Samus’ new psychic abilities.
In the center of the circular area lies a pressure plate that you must stand on to commence the puzzle. Activating this plate enables you to lock onto the base of the ring, maneuvering it along the designated tracks. Your objective is to position the ring in front of three pointed objects arrayed around the track. Once in place, these objects unveil a brazier hidden beneath.
Observe the ground to understand how to navigate the ring effectively. The tracks are complex; maneuvering the ring will require both back-and-forth and up-and-down adjustments to achieve proper alignment.
When the ring aligns with a brazier, unleash a Fire Shot beam through the ring into the charcoal beneath.
Successfully igniting all three braziers opens a large door, revealing a majestic Lamorn statue. This statue is a clue toward solving the broader puzzle within the chamber. As you face the statue, you’ll notice two additional doors: one on the left, secured by an Ice Blocker, and another on the right, locked by a Thunder Blocker. Each door leads to distinct puzzles – the Fountain of Tranquility and Rods of Transference – that must be completed to solve the overarching Sacred Flame puzzle.
Step 3: Solving the Fountain of Tranquility Puzzle
Typically, players will unlock the Ice Shot first, leading them to the Fountain of Tranquility chamber. Upon entry, you’ll observe two fountains, one of which is active. The moving water supports a platform that will be crucial for your next jump. Scanning the left fountain reveals the presence of a Psychic Node at its base.
Before collecting the Psychic Node, freeze the water using an Ice Shot beam. Then, retrieve the Psychic Node and place it at the base of the right fountain. This action activates the right fountain, raising the platform significantly higher than the left one. Quickly freeze the elevated platform in place and leap from the left platform onto the right, and then to the center platform being hoisted.
Atop this structure, you’ll find a valuable Shot Expansion. Completing the Fountain of Tranquility puzzle will be signified by the appearance of a white orb connecting with the flame orb at the large Lamorn statue in the main chamber.
Step 4: Completing the Rods of Transference Puzzle
Once you unlock the Thunder Shot weapon, revisit the Sacred Flame chamber to tackle the Rods of Transference puzzle along with the main challenge.
To start, turn right from the main chamber and disable the Thunder Blocker at the door. Inside, you’ll discover a uniquely-shaped structure with three movable rods at its center. Each rod has two articulation points: one permits alignment of the pointer toward the structure’s tip, while the other allows you to pull the entire rod down.
Your objective is to depress all three rods completely and orient their tips towards the center. Following this alignment, unleash multiple Thunder Shot blasts at the tip of the central structure.
Sustain your firing until a cutscene signifies the resolution of the puzzle, rewarding you once again with a Shot Expansion.
Final Reward from the Sacred Flame Ceremony
Having solved all three elemental puzzles, return to the impressive Lamorn statue to claim your ultimate prize: an Energy Tank. This reward will rise from the ground at the statue’s base, marking the completion of this intricate puzzle series.
