Guide to Obtaining the Ladybug Buggy in Grounded 2 Toxic Tangle DLC

The Toxic Tangle Update for Grounded 2 has officially launched, introducing exciting new content for players. One of the major highlights of this download is the addition of a robust new mount: The Ladybug.

This sturdy vehicle is designed to assist players in navigating the menacing Toxic Slobs found in the newly unveiled map area. Equipped with a powerful water cannon, the Ladybug can also tackle aerial enemies—like Moskitoes, Wasps, and Butterflies—while effectively transporting supplies. This guide will provide essential information on how to acquire and effectively use the Ladybug Buggy in Grounded 2.

Steps to Unlock the Ladybug Buggy in Grounded 2

To obtain the Ladybug Buggy, players must first make progress in the main storyline. Completing a quest to unlock the Hatchery is imperative before venturing into the new Toxic Tangle zone. Note that the Hatchery Blueprint requires 500 Raw Science to unlock. Players can gather this resource by utilizing the Analyzer to scan items or by taking part in Ranger Challenges.

Next, players will need a special bed for their new mount. The Disk required to unlock the Ladybug Nest recipe is hidden within the Fairy Garden House, a small toy-like structure concealing an entrance to an Ominent Lab. Conveniently located in the heart of the Garden Biome, this cottage is difficult to miss while exploring the Toxic Tangle area.

Once inside the lab, players should be cautious of green puddles that may pose hazards. At the end of this network of tunnels lies a collectible known as the Fairy TURBO Optical Disk, which must be retrieved and inserted into a Ranger Station to unlock the recipe for the Ladybug Nest.

With both the Hatchery and the Nest in place for the mount, the next step is to acquire a Ladybug Egg to place in the Hatchery. These eggs can be found scattered throughout the Toxic Tangle area, so let’s explore those locations now.

Finding Ladybug Eggs in Grounded 2

Ladybug Hatchery

Ladybug Eggs are primarily located in the Garden Biome, particularly near the Cabbage Patch in the orchard area on the upper right side of the map.

These bright red, round eggs are often nestled among the cabbage leaves. Players should be prepared to encounter hostile Ladybugs and other insects when attempting to retrieve the eggs, so employing a durable Buggy, such as the Orb Weaver or Soldier Ant, will facilitate easier access to this area.

After securing the egg, it is essential to return it safely to the base for placement in the Hatchery. Fortunately, there is a clever strategy to simplify this process: players can place the egg in the Buggy’s mouth (the Soldier Ant Buggy works well) and command it to return to the base independently.

For an even more efficient method, follow these steps:

  • Set your Respawn Point close to the Hatchery at your base.
  • Deliver the Ladybug Egg to the Soldier Ant Buggy and then choose to ‘respawn.’
  • Once back at the base, summon the Buggy (press T on PC or use the Right D-pad on the Controller).
  • Retrieve the Egg from the Buggy’s mouth and place it in the Hatchery to initiate hatching.

Players can expect to wait approximately 20 in-game hours for the Egg to hatch. Once this period is over, the Ladybug will be ready to ride, allowing for an exhilarating exploration of the Toxic Tangle DLC in Grounded 2 aboard this formidable mount equipped with a water cannon!
