Guide to Delta Force Operations Mode: Tips and Strategies

The Delta Force franchise has made a noteworthy return, reintroducing itself into the gaming sphere with a dynamic extraction shooter mode. As outlined by the developers, the Operations extraction mode embodies a straightforward approach: shoot, loot, scoot.

Delta Force’s Operations mode aims to redefine the extraction shooter genre by fusing elements of Escape From Tarkov with strategic dynamics, while also embracing smaller maps and providing more forgiving gunplay.

True to the essence of extraction shooter games, Operations features a compelling gameplay loop driven by relentless challenges.

Players begin by equipping themselves at their base and meticulously planning their raids, all with the goal of acquiring as much loot as possible.

Upon returning home, the collected loot becomes vital for enhancing your base and acquiring superior equipment…

…which then propels you back into the fray for even more loot, leading to an exhilarating cycle of risk and reward. This loop might seem chaotic, but it thrives on the tension that comes from the possibility of losing all your hard-earned progress if you fail to extract successfully.

Gameplay within Operations is divided into three main phases: preparation for the raid, executing the plan, and managing the aftermath. Let’s gear up and delve into it.

Preparing for an Operations Raid

While well-structured plans can lead to success, poorly conceived strategies often result in disaster.

Establishing clear objectives and understanding how to achieve them allows you to bring the appropriate tools necessary for a successful raid.

Additionally, having a solid plan in place enables players to focus on adapting to real-time tactical situations rather than scrambling to devise strategies on the go.

Operations comprises four distinct maps: Zero Dam, Layali Grove, Space City, and Brakkesh, each offering unique challenges and environments.

Gearing Up

The inventory mechanics in Delta Force bear resemblance to those found in Escape From Tarkov and Gray Zone Warfare, incorporating a tactical rig, a backpack, pockets, and a secure container.

If you perish during an operation, you’ll lose everything equipped, except for items stored securely in your container. This includes weapons, vests, helmets, and even your backpack.

While it may be tempting to enter the fight with lesser gear, remember, the greater the risk, the better your chances of returning with valuable loot.

At least four extra magazines

At least one health pack, one debuff remedy

Top-tier options

Assault rifles are versatile across all maps; however, opting for a sniper in Space City or Brakkesh typically proves ineffective. Likewise, shotguns and SMGs perform poorly in Layali Grove without positioning within structures.

Smaller maps tend to require more ammunition due to limited maneuvering options during firefights, so plan your loadout accordingly.

Prepare for frequent engagements, ensuring you have at least two health recovery and debuff removal items on hand.

Though you can stock up on numerous medical supplies, remember: every filled inventory slot is one less available for loot.

The Raid

Engagement is straightforward: enter, eliminate threats, loot everything, and exit swiftly. If only it were that simple, you’d likely be out there rather than reading this guide!

Upon spawning, your immediate priority is to seek a secure location to avoid spawnbanging.

If you can survive the initial onslaught, proceed to your designated points of interest. Keep an ear out for gunfire, as this provides valuable intel on contested areas.

High-tier locations might prove too risky; sometimes it’s better to wait for conflicts to subside or redirect your efforts elsewhere.

Regardless of your choice, maintain awareness of your nearest extraction point; there are instances when things simply don’t go in your favor.

If the situation feels off, it’s perfectly acceptable to bypass looting and head straight for an early extraction.

Exercise restraint: shooting at everything in sight can often lead to unnecessary exposure without guaranteed kills.

This is especially pertinent if you find yourself amidst a firefight; let opponents exhaust their resources before taking your shot.

If you take down an enemy, remember the cardinal rule: there’s always another enemy lurking nearby. Avoid the temptation to loot too quickly, as this can lead to an untimely demise.

When you achieve your objectives and the threat level has decreased, act quickly. Any pause could be fatal, so secure your loot and head for extraction without delay.

Cleaning Up The Mess

Assuming you’ve returned unscathed, it’s time to revel in your hard-earned spoils.

The loot obtained during raids can either be directly sold to traders or auctioned off. Before making a sale, click “List”within the auction house option to access the latest prices, enabling you to make informed decisions.

Prior to unloading items, check your Black Site and quest list to verify the value of what you’re selling. There’s nothing worse than realizing you’ve let go of a crucial item for mere pocket change.

If you did not survive the mission, just regroup and re-gear. The game generously provides a gear ticket when funds run low, ensuring you won’t face the next operation unprotected.

If this information feels overwhelming, just remember the fundamentals: loot, shoot, scoot. Best of luck out there, operator!
