Guide on Obtaining and Utilizing Poop in Hytale

In the world of Hytale, poop is a vital crafting material essential for creating fertilizer. Fertilizer significantly accelerates crop growth, making poop a highly sought-after resource for players eager to enhance their farming efficiency and maximize their resource yields.

This comprehensive guide will delve into the various methods for acquiring poop, the specific animals that produce it, and tactics for establishing a successful poop farm at your base. Let’s explore the details!

How to Obtain Poop in Hytale

Obtaining Poop from Mosshorn

Poop can be collected from several animals in Hytale, including pigs, cows, sheep, mosshorn, horses, rams, and chickens. While many of these animals will naturally excrete poop after a certain duration, others require specific actions to prompt a drop.

For example, animals like horses, pigs, and rams excrete poop naturally. Players need only wait for these animals to fulfill this function and then gather the waste from the ground. Spotting a herd of horses in the wild typically means you’ll find some valuable droppings close by.

In contrast, acquiring poop from sheep, chickens, cows, and mosshorn necessitates a more proactive approach. Using Crude Shears—which can be crafted at a Farmer’s Workbench—on sheep and chickens provides a chance to collect poop alongside other resources, such as wool from sheep and feathers from chickens.

With cows and mosshorn, employing an Empty Wooden Bucket (also craftable at a Farmer’s Workbench) can yield milk while offering a chance to obtain poop as well. Keep in mind that while sheep, cows, and mosshorn also produce poop naturally, chickens do not possess this capability.

Top Animals for Poop Collection in Hytale

Capturing Piglet for Poop

The most efficient animals for collecting poop in Hytale include chickens, baby piglets, horses, and rams. These animals can either be safely transported using a Capture Crate (available for chickens and baby piglets) or utilized as rideable mounts (like horses and rams).

By capturing animals with a Capture Crate, you can transport a considerable number back to your base, provided you bring enough crates. While adult pigs can’t be captured this way, baby piglets are fair game.

If you encounter mountable animals in the wild, such as horses and rams, you can ride them back to your base and construct a fence around the area, effectively creating an enclosure. Notably, horses and rams are unable to leap over a simple 1×1 fence, meaning they’ll remain secure within their confined space. This method not only secures your animals but also gifts your base a makeshift stable.

Among these animals, chickens are the most advantageous to capture, as they provide a continuous supply of not only poop but also valuable resources like eggs and cheese.

How to Use Poop for Fertilizer in Hytale

Players can use collected poop to create a Fertilizer Bag at Tier 3 within a Farmer’s Workbench. This fertilizer doubles the growth rate of crops, significantly shortening the time needed for them to mature.

Additionally, poop can serve as a throwable object; when equipped from the hotbar, it can deal damage ranging from 5 to 6 points per throw.
