Celebrating 25 Years of Total War: Immortal Empires Comes to All Players
Sega and Creative Assembly are marking a significant milestone—the 25th anniversary of the Total War franchise—with a pivotal update to the Total War: Warhammer series. Starting shortly, this update will grant players access to the expansive Immortal Empires campaign, transcending the previous limitation that restricted it solely to owners of Total War: Warhammer III.
What is Immortal Empires?
For those unfamiliar, Immortal Empires is an extensive campaign integrated within the rich fantasy lore of the Total War universe. It provides players with a comprehensive map that unites all regions, factions, armies, and Legendary Lords from the entire trilogy. This means fans can embark on a full adventure using every piece of content at their disposal, making it a truly inclusive experience.
Creative Assembly’s Vision for the Future
In a statement reflecting their gratitude, Creative Assembly noted,
“As we celebrate 25 incredible years of Total War – and look ahead to WARHAMMER’s 10th anniversary in 2026 – we wanted to do something special. Your passion and support for this trilogy have made Immortal Empires possible, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Now feels like the perfect moment to open its gates and invite everyone to experience a piece of the adventure.”
Updates and Content Availability
To implement this initiative, the developers will automatically add Total War: Warhammer III to the libraries of users who own either Warhammer I or II. It’s important to note that while the Realms of Chaos campaign and 10 Legendary Lords from the third title are excluded from this update, players can dive straight into the Immortal Empires campaign along with the The Lost God prologue, seamlessly integrating their existing DLC content into the new experience.
Purchasing Options and DLC Integration
Moreover, a specific Upgrade Pack will be introduced, allowing users to access all previously locked content from Warhammer III. Additionally, players will have the option to purchase any DLC pack from across the trilogy, further enriching their Immortal Empires adventure.
As Creative Assembly elaborated,
“For example, if you own WARHAMMER I, you can purchase DLC for WARHAMMER II and/or III and enjoy it within Immortal Empires.”This flexibility allows for an even more personalized gaming experience.
Looking Ahead: Release Date
The much-anticipated unlock for the Total War: Warhammer III Immortal Empires campaign, accessible to the entire series, is scheduled for December 4. This date promises to usher in a new era for Total War enthusiasts.
