Steve McMichael, a former wrestler from WWE and WCW, has been admitted to the hospital for the second time within the past two months.

The 66-year-old, who is also recognized for his previous NFL career, has been “undergoing tests”as stated by his family in a social media post.

“The McMichael family is asking for prayers, as Steve was hospitalized today. He is currently undergoing tests. We will update his fans and the media as more information becomes available.”

In February, McMichael was admitted to the hospital due to a urinary tract infection, pneumonia, and MRSA. Following a blood transfusion and treatment with antibiotics, he was discharged a few days later.

The ex-wrestler has been openly fighting ALS Lou Gehrig’s disease for over 20 years, a fact that he has made known throughout his time in the industry.

McMichael had been waiting for years to be included in the class before finally being voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in February.

Steve McMichael’s Career in WWE, WCW, and TNA

In 1995, McMichael made his debut for WWE as part of an angle leading up to WrestleMania XI alongside Lawrence Taylor. He also served as a guest commentator alongside Vince McMahon on a previous episode of RAW, which eventually led to a physical altercation with Kama Mustafa.

After being hired by WCW, he rose to become the WCW United States Champion and eventually tied the knot with Debra Marshall, a former WWE Superstar who gained recognition for her involvement with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Despite divorcing in 1998, just a year before his final WCW appearance, Marshall and McMichael have both continued to pursue their careers. McMichael has gone on to referee the Monster’s Ball Match at Bound For Glory in 2008 in TNA.

McMichael and Misty Davenport are now married, and in 2008, they joyfully welcomed their first child into the world.
