Following the spectacular achievements of Expedition 33 at the esteemed The Game Awards 2025, its developers have unveiled the highly anticipated GOTY update. This extensive update, featuring the Verso’s Drafts area, introduces players to a vast landscape filled with formidable bosses, stylish new outfits, and an array of engaging challenges.
Among these challenges lies the exciting Diving Board Minigame, which players encounter early in the new area. Some might find it particularly challenging to master this minigame, yet the potential rewards are appealing. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to locate and conquer the Diving Board Minigame.
Guide to the Diving Board Minigame in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Upon launching the game, check the map to determine your proximity to Lumiere. If you previously saved near the city, proceed directly to the new area located to the right over the water. Before you can access this section, make sure to complete the second act of the game; this is essential in order to obtain Equie’s flying and underwater diving abilities.

Once you enter the area, head straight from the first checkpoint towards the water, and drop down when you see the Esquie statues to your right. Ahead, you will find a diving board with a small Gestral perched on it. You’ll need to dispatch the Gestral using an attack to activate the minigame. Below, you’ll notice three hoops that you need to aim for while diving. Before leaping off the diving board, be sure to collect Esquiaro, a weapon prized by Monoco.

Now it’s time to dive through the hoops sequentially. The largest one, denoted by its yellow color, is the easiest to enter. After making the jump, you can interact with the nearby Half-baked Gestral for a reward called the Colour of Lumina.
If you miss your jump, don’t fret! A rope will lead you back up. Return to the diving board and attempt to jump on the blue hoop from the right side. It may take several tries, but persistence pays off. Successfully landing in the hoop will reward you with the Double Bun Hairstyle for Maelle before you aim for the final hoop.
Landing on the small red hoop presents the greatest challenge and can frustrate many players. This specific jump requires precision; otherwise, you’ll land on its edge rather than inside the hoop. It’s important to avoid characters like Monoco or Lune due to their distinct running and floating mechanics, which complicate the jump.
Characters like Sciel or Malle tend to be less effective for this task. You don’t need a full sprint across the board; simply approaching the edge and adjusting your position toward the leftmost corner for your jump is sufficient. It is also advisable to focus straight ahead during your jump, as players report that this technique aids in precision.

Oddly enough, refrain from jumping too early on the board. Instead, time your jump for the last second to maximize your character’s jump distance off the board. While airborne, you can slightly steer your descent to align with the center of the hoop below. Successfully landing in the red hoop will reward you with the French Bob Hairstyle for Monoco.
