Your journey begins with the discovery of your first Free Spirit, which emerges from its grave within the grounds of Wailon Lodge. To properly contain the spirit, send a Supernatural Expert to calm it down before you construct your inaugural Polterguest Room.

To expand your collection of Free Spirits in the museum or hotel, you’ll need to retrieve them from expeditions, similar to unlocking new exhibits. Start your search at the Endless Dump, and as you progress, additional expedition sites in the Netherworld will become available, offering a diverse range of spirits.

It’s advisable to delay placing Free Spirits in your museum until a guest room is fully prepared. When you acquire new spirits from expeditions, temporarily store them in your inventory, giving you time to assess their characteristics before introducing them to your facility.

These rooms can be tailored to reflect the era of your ghostly guests. While the game tends to guide you in setting up the initial room, being attentive to the preferences of any new spirits is crucial to ensure the efficiency of these accommodations.

The innovative one-way glass feature allows a Polterguest Room to double as an exhibit. As such, setting up information stands and donation points nearby will enhance visitor engagement, just like in standard exhibits. When styling a Polterguest Room, we recommend temporarily pausing the game to examine your Polterguest’s preferences, which you can find in the info tab. Most of your early spirits will likely favor the Industrial Age decor, so make sure to design the room accordingly.

Additionally, think about incorporating entertainment elements that align with the chosen theme. For the Industrial Age, decorations might include gramophones, fireplaces, and washbasins. While decorating, remember to consult the “Buzz Bonus”section within the spirit’s info tab to ensure that you’ve satisfied any specific requirements they may have.

The rate at which this occurs hinges on two main factors: Entertainment and Immersion. Conversely, immersion involves adorning the room in a style that resonates with the ghost’s historical context.

Be vigilant: should a Polterguest’s Peace Meter hit zero, they will escape containment, necessitating intervention from a Supernatural Specialist. Although this will return the spirit to its room, neglecting to address the conditions that caused their unrest will lead to ongoing issues. Keep an eye on the patience tally found on the spirit’s information panel—this indicates how many times they can be re-calmed after a breakout. If their Peace drops to zero once more after exhausting their patience, they will leave your museum permanently, so it’s crucial to avoid such an outcome!
