Takings place 1, 500 years before the narrative of Youngdo’s novels, Project Windless functions as a prequel, allowing developers to explore the lore while maintaining creative liberties. The narrative centers on the origins of the “Hero King“, the celebrated founder of the Aragit Kingdom. Gamers will encounter four distinct races:

  • The Tokabi: Mischievous beings mastering fire and magic, famous for their fearless demeanor.
  • The Humans: Ambitious and strategic, tirelessly seeking to alter the dynamics of power.
  • The Naga: A cold-blooded, intelligent reptilian species, driven by an unyielding quest for dominance.
  • The Rekkon: Majestic avian warriors noted for their size, speed, and fierce nomadic spirit.

Innovative Gameplay Mechanics

In the initial developer diary, KRAFTON Montréal discusses the game’s combat mechanics, describing them as brutal, visceral, and overwhelming. Players will frequently battle against dozens, if not hundreds, of foes simultaneously, reflecting the lore’s depiction of Rekkon warriors’ exceptional prowess.

To achieve this unprecedented scale in encounters, the development team employs groundbreaking “Mass Entity AI“technology. This innovative system facilitates the interaction of hundreds or even thousands of intelligent characters, ensuring that fights evolve into chaotic, large-scale battles that convincingly portray a world embroiled in conflict.
