Apple’s executive landscape appears to be undergoing significant turbulence, with a series of high-profile departures signaling potential shifts within the company’s leadership. The latest casualty in this ongoing transformation is Stan Ng, a marketing veteran with an impressive 31-year tenure at Apple.
Stan Ng Bids Farewell: Icon of Apple’s Legacy Retires
In an emotional LinkedIn farewell, Stan Ng announced that Thursday marked his final day at Apple, a moment filled with nostalgia as he reflected on his journey by watching the sunrise at Apple Park while listening to his first iPod.
Ng’s tenure at Apple was anything but ordinary. He played a pivotal role in the launch of the first iPod, contributed to the development of both the original Apple Watch and its evolving series, and most recently, led marketing efforts for innovative products like the Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Health, and various home technology solutions.
This departure is part of a broader trend of executive turnover at Apple. In December 2025, the company made headlines by replacing its AI lead, John Giannandrea, with Microsoft’s Amar Subramanya. Craig Federighi, previously overseeing software engineering, now has added responsibilities related to AI governance as well.
Simultaneously, Apple experienced the loss of significant talent with the departure of Alan Dye, the former head of UI design, who transitioned to Meta. As of March 2026, Lisa Jackson, the company’s vice president for Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, had also exited, and there are plans for general counsel Kat Adams to leave by late 2026.
To add to the roster of departures, Abidur Chowdhury, known for designing the iPhone Air and being recognized as a rising talent within the organization, has chosen to explore opportunities beyond Apple.
As Apple navigates this challenging period of leadership reshuffling, the implications for its product strategy and market position remain to be seen. These changes may signal a need for new perspectives and leadership styles to maintain Apple’s pioneering edge in technology.
