Ed Skrein Cast as Baldur in Amazon’s Upcoming God of War TV Series

Ed Skrein, well-known for his role as the primary antagonist in the blockbuster Deadpool and his recent performance in Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, has officially been cast as Baldur in Amazon and PlayStation Productions’ much-anticipated God of War TV series.

With this announcement, Skrein joins a growing cast that features many key characters already disclosed. The identities of actors portraying Kratos, Atreus, Brok, Sindri, Mimir, Thor, Heimdall, Sif, and Odin have been confirmed, culminating in the revelation of Baldur, a central figure in the series. His casting notably completes the major roles except for that of Freya, creating anticipation for the final reveal.

According to a report from Variety, the inclusion of Skrein aligns with the trend of retaining familiarity for fans, as Alastair Duncan (Mimir) and Ryan Hurst (Kratos) are the only actors returning from the acclaimed God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok games. Notably, Duncan reprises his role, while Hurst shifts from portraying Thor in Ragnarok to embodying Kratos in this live-action adaptation.

As preparations ramp up with filming set to commence next month, the excitement around the series is palpable. Fans still await the announcement of who will portray Freya.
