Drew McIntyre takes major shot at CM Punk ahead of WWE RAW

Ahead of tonight’s episode of WWE RAW, Drew McIntyre has made a dig at CM Punk. The live broadcast of this week’s edition of the red brand will take place in Brooklyn, New York.

On RAW last Monday night, it was announced that Punk would be the special guest commentator for the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania XL. The Visionary will be facing off against Drew McIntyre this weekend, after McIntyre earned the title match by winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber match last month.

Prior to tonight’s airing of WWE RAW, Drew McIntyre utilized Instagram to mock CM Punk. McIntyre mentioned that he received a personalized emoji leading up to WrestleMania, teasing that Punk’s was that of a clown.

“I have my own emoji, #DrewMcIntyre So does #CMPunk 🤡💩,”he wrote.

Despite tearing his triceps during the Men’s Royal Rumble match on January 27, CM Punk’s rivalry with the Scottish Warrior remains alive. The latter had attacked Punk to write him off television earlier this year and has continued to keep their feud going while the veteran recovers from his injury.

R-Truth shares his thoughts on CM Punk’s unexpected return to WWE

At Survivor Series 2023, both R-Truth and CM Punk made their highly anticipated returns. R-Truth, a former United States Champion, will join forces with The Miz to compete in the Six-Pack Challenge at WrestleMania XL.

He expressed his surprise at seeing the veteran return and clarified that he does not want him to hinder Cody Rhodes from completing his story.

“I was just as surprised as everybody else. Very surprised. I love Phil, I think Punk is good for business, you can’t take nothing away from him, you know. At the same time, you d*mn sure can’t get in the way of Cody Rhodes. He has got his story he is trying to finish. In some form or fashion, I am a part of that story too, you know. But he need to tell it, with somebody else.”[3:03 onwards]

Despite his veteran status, Punk continues to be one of the most highly-discussed superstars in the industry. It will be intriguing to see if WWE has any unexpected plans in store for him at this weekend’s WrestleMania.
