Fans of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero can rejoice as a significant update has just been implemented, introducing an exciting new limited-time game mode, various enhancements to combat, and numerous balancing adjustments. This update is now accessible to all players across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
Since its launch on October 11, 2024, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has made waves in the gaming industry. The Japanese studio Spike Chunsoft reported impressive sales, with over three million copies sold on the very first day. This success marked the title as the all-time best-seller in the Dragon Ball franchise in the United States, succeeding the classic 2007 installment, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. However, the game has faced its share of criticism, particularly revolving around balance issues that affect multiplayer gameplay. The latest patch aims to address these critiques, along with additional adjustments.
New Features and Game Modes
One of the standout features in this update is the introduction of the new mode titled Legendary Warrior Face-Off. Available for a limited time, this exciting mode challenges players to battle against an exceptionally powerful character, pushing their skills to the test. In addition, notable changes have been made to existing game modes:
- Custom Battle: Enhanced options for effects, scenarios, and text settings.
- Quick Match: Optimized for faster matchmaking, players will now be immediately matched with opponents without needing to enter a room.
- Episode Battle: Difficulty levels can now be adjusted regardless of whether a Dragon Orb is being utilized.
- Battle Setup: Players receive a quick overview of controls during character selection.

- Buffs: Skills including Rush Attack, Grand Slash, and Chase Change have seen enhancements, making them more advantageous for users.
- Nerfs: Wild Sense has been weakened, and usage of Overall Automatic Avoidance Skills has been made more challenging.
- Skill Count Adjustments: The resource consumption for abilities such as Kaioken and Ta-dah has been decreased.
Despite its impressive initial performance, the game has experienced a gradual decline in player numbers, primarily due to exploits and ongoing balancing issues.
