Dominik Mysterio to turn babyface by saving his father Rey Mysterio during a massive beatdown, predicts ex-WWE writer

Despite being defeated by his father Rey Mysterio at last year’s WrestleMania, Dominik Mysterio remains determined to be a constant challenge for his father. This weekend at The Show of Shows, the father-son duo will once again compete in a tag team match, but their relationship may soon be on the path to reconciliation.

Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee will join forces to take on the team of Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar. Despite the lack of buildup for this match, fans can still expect an exciting and high-flying performance from all four Luchadors. Although Dirty Dom remains one of the most disliked superstars on the roster, Kazeem Famuyide suggests that a potential babyface turn may be in his future.

During The Masked Man Show, the ex-WWE writer predicted that in due time, the audience will grow tired of jeering Dominik and he will undergo a face turn by rescuing his father Rey Mysterio from an attack. Presently, Dirty Dom is a member of The Judgement Day group, but there has been increasing tension among its members and the heel faction may soon disband.

”There’s only one other way to go. Once people are tired of booing you, eventually they get, and they can’t wait to cheer you. And I think that one day when Rey [Mysterio] and Dom [Dominik Mysterio] have beaten each other up as much as they can, and Dom makes that save for Rey Mysterio one of these days and the crowd goes crazy and fathers hug their sons and all that stuff,” said Famuyide [10:50-11:00]

Rhea Ripley Confronts Dominik Mysterio over His Ties to Legado Del Fantasma

In addition to his membership in The Judgment Day, Dirty Dom has been spending a significant amount of time with Santos Escobar’s group, Legado Del Fantasma. Dominik Mysterio has aligned himself with them due to their mutual disdain for Rey Mysterio, but Rhea Ripley is dissatisfied with Dom’s association with the group.

During the previous week’s episode of SmackDown, Ripley scolded Mysterio for not informing the faction about his decision to join forces with LDF at WrestleMania XL. Despite her warning, Mysterio invited Escobar and his associates to the backstage locker room at RAW’s The Judgement Day event. This has caused tensions to escalate between Ripley and Dom due to his rebellious actions.
