Since its initial launch, Hytale has rolled out a significant update that introduces one of the most eagerly awaited additions: Dinosaurs and the Dino Jungle (also known as the Ancient Jungle) Biome. This fascinating lost world is packed with mysteries, unique creatures, abundant loot, and a variety of dinosaur species that players can engage with (though, mounting them is not yet an option).
Discovering the Dinosaur Biome in Hytale

Finding the Dinosaur Biome can be a challenging adventure in Hytale. Players should journey toward the volcanic Biome and search for distinctive small, round yellow spots on the map. These spots typically indicate volcanoes, which contain significant treasure troves at their cores. However, reaching them might be difficult, especially without the use of creative mode.
This elusive Dinosaur Biome is primarily located underground and can only be found in these subterranean regions. Upon successfully traversing the lava river that separates players from the ancient jungle, they will be welcomed by a new ecological system brimming with life.
In stark contrast to other underground environments such as caves, ice caves, lost temples, and underwater caves, the Dino Biome offers a more open and navigable terrain. Here, adventurers can encounter various dinosaur species, including the T-Rex, Triceratops, Velociraptor, Pterodactyls, Archaeopteryx, and even the Man-Eating Venus Fly Traps.

Currently, players cannot tame these dinosaurs, meaning they must await future updates before utilizing them as mounts and unleashing their strength upon the surface world. Nonetheless, the introduction of this rich biome offers plenty of exploration opportunities, filled with remnants of an ancient civilization that could serve as excellent foundation sites for a base in the Dinosaur Biome.
Moreover, this biome is ripe with hidden treasure chests. Players should be vigilant, as many of these chests contain valuable loot, typically of Thorium or Adamantite Tier, making it worthwhile to investigate every suspicious-looking chest encountered.

Additionally, players can gather resources like Jungle Log, Pink Blossom Flowers, and Talt Red Rafflesia. While these materials do not currently contribute to unique items or recipes, given that Hytale is still in Early Access, it’s advisable for players to mark this area using a Portal for convenient travel. This will allow easy access for future exploration and crafting opportunities once new blueprints are added.
At this stage, players can utilize the materials from the Dinosaur Biome, such as Jungle Logs and stone blocks, to construct basic structures. However, it’s important to note that these materials currently lack the ability to be processed into more advanced items.
