Complete Guide to Solving the Mars Pillars Puzzle in Astra Malorum (All Symbols Included) – Black Ops 7

To complete the Astra Malorum easter egg in Black Ops 7 Zombies, players must navigate to Mars, acquire the Ascendant Eye, and execute a special sequence involving symbols on pillars to unlock the boss encounter. This final stage can be challenging for those unfamiliar with the required steps.

In this guide, we will provide a comprehensive walkthrough on how to effortlessly solve the Mars puzzle in Astra Malorum, enabling you to advance to the boss battle and earn the coveted rewards awaiting you.

Initiating the Mars Pillars Step in Astra Malorum & Securing the Mars Bird

Ascendant Eye Step

First and foremost, ensure you have access to Mars within Astra Malorum. For assistance on how to reach Mars, consult our detailed guide linked here. Upon arriving, locate Dr. Thurston’s Brain at the center of the map, and place it on the altar situated in the upper area of Mars. Interact with the brain at the altar to trigger an audio cue.

With the audio cue activated, swiftly head to the eastern window of Mars where you will spot four pylons in the distance. Utilize your weapon to shoot the furthest right pylon, which will illuminate in blue, thus attracting the Ascendant Eye. Next, shoot the furthest left pylon, followed by the closest right pylon, and then the closest left pylon.

Once these pylons are lit, pivot your position and shoot the orb located above the altar while facing west. This action will also turn blue and cause the Ascendant Eye to freeze momentarily. Keep this orb active to prevent the Ascendant Eye from moving until it descends to a low enough height for you to retrieve it via a jump. After capturing the eye, place it on the altar in the southern section.

Solving the Mars Symbols & Pillars Puzzle in Astra Malorum

Pillar 1

With the Ascendant Eye positioned correctly, you’ll need to use the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon to target and shoot the tops of five distinct pillars found on Mars. This action will result in the tops glowing blue. Ensure that you’re hitting the golden antennas atop these pillars. If any pillar appears to be missing an antenna, try restarting the round or proceed to the next part:

  • A pillar is located in the southern part, to the right of the Ascendant Eye.
  • Another pillar can be found when facing west, to the right of Dr. Thurston’s Brain.
  • One pillar is positioned to the left of Dr. Thurston’s Brain, while facing west.
  • Two pillars are situated to the north, positioned between a broken pillar.

Next, take the portal that transports you back to Astra Malorum and enter the Observatory Core. Interact with the device located to the right of the piano and watch for five symbols that will appear on the screen. Pay attention to the unique sequence displayed—one of these will be a blank symbol, marked by sound waves. Identify the corresponding pillar symbol on Mars that does not match your shown symbols to ascertain its position in your sequence.

All Mars Symbols Translations

To effectively solve the Mars pillars and symbols puzzle, you must interact with the symbols on the Mars pillars in the same order shown on the piano. The symbols may differ slightly from pillar to pillar, so we’ve prepared a visual guide for your reference.

As you engage with each symbol in rapid succession, the pillar faces will change from red to blue, indicating success. Once completed, return to Dr. Thurston’s Brain for a final interaction, marking the beginning of the boss fight.
