How to Acquire Mega Golurk in Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

To obtain Mega Golurk, trainers must challenge the Rogue Mega Golurk found within 4-Star Unknown Mega Stone Distortions (designated as Yellow Distortions) scattered throughout Lumiose City. Those who have invested in the Mega Dimension DLC and have successfully completed at least the Third Hyperspace Lumiose Survey mission can watch for these distortions that will randomly appear on their map.

Players can reset the Distortions by taking a break on a bench or while in their Hotel Room, facilitating the discovery of Rogue Mega Evolutions and Side Quests.

Upon entering the correct Distortion, trainers will encounter Mega Golurk looming over a hill. It is advisable to avoid using Bug, Rock, Fighting, Normal, Electric, or Poison-type Pokémon, as these types will have little to no effect on it in battle.

Instead, opt for a proficient Dark-type Fast Attacker, such as Mega Absol Z. Be cautious of Mega Golurk’s frequent use of Phantom Force, which allows it to become untouchable temporarily, akin to the move Dig. Players should remain patient, carefully chipping away at its substantial HP while evading its attacks and healing their Pokémon as required.

Defeating Mega Golurk will reward players with a Golurkite, enabling them to Mega Evolve their Golurk.

Is Mega Golurk Effective in Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension PvP & PvE?

Mega Golurk boasts a Base Stat Total (BST) of 583, putting it near the levels of Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon. However, its slower speed hinders its performance in competitive PvP scenarios, especially against faster meta picks like Mega Absol Z, Mega Gengar, and Mega Tyranitar—all of which can outspeed it easily.

With a significant increase in Physical Attack but lacking in HP and defensive stats, Mega Golurk is burdened by poor stat distribution for a bulky attacker. This limitation means it often struggles against faster opponents and those capable of hitting hard and quickly.

The recommended moveset for optimizing Mega Golurk’s performance includes Phantom Force, Earthquake, Shadow Punch, and Scorching Sands. Some trainers may choose to enhance its offensive capabilities further with Dynamic Punch or regain health with Drain Punch.
