Niels Laute, a Program Manager at Microsoft who specializes in PowerToys and the Windows Developer Platform, shared an intriguing screenshot on X (formerly Twitter) that showcases the forthcoming monitor utility. While specific details about the tool remain sparse, it promises to allow users to adjust a variety of monitor settings directly from their desktop—eliminating the need to navigate cumbersome on-screen display (OSD) menus typically found on monitors.

Currently, some manufacturers provide applications for monitor settings, but these applications often fall short in user-friendliness. In contrast, other utilities, like TwinkleTray, successfully simplify monitor management. PowerToys’ upcoming monitor utility aims to bridge this gap by delivering comprehensive control over various settings through a unified interface.
