Inspired by the beloved PlayStation and 3DS iterations, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined introduces unique sub-stores in each new region you explore. Upon returning to L’Arca with Ruff now part of your crew, you might be taken aback by the village’s cheerful ambiance, seemingly bustling with animal life.
Fortunately, there’s no new curse to lift in L’Arca. In fact, as you venture into the Mayor’s House, you’ll discover that the villagers are merely donning costumes to commemorate La Festa, a joyous celebration of the town’s recent salvation.
How to Engage in the Minigame

To immerse yourself in the festivities, you’ll need to dress the part. Start by visiting the Mayor’s house for a conversation. He’ll advise you to check the drawers for animal costumes that your party can wear. Once you’re outfitted, you’ll be ready to engage with the disguised villagers.
To kick off the challenge, make your way to the Main Square and speak to the gentleman standing near the center. He’ll set the task of discerning which three NPCs are actually Warriors in disguise among the village’s revelry.
Identifying the Warriors

While you can take a guess to complete the minigame, using a strategic approach will save time. The three correct animals to identify are:
- The Dog
- The Horse
- The Cow (specifically the one on the left)
Is the Reward Worth Your Effort?

After successfully identifying the warriors, return to the Mayor to collect your reward. You’ll receive the Ruby of Protection, a valuable addition to your inventory.
| Item | Effect | Best Equipped On |
| Ruby of Protection | +20 Defense | Maribel or Ruff |
In the early stages of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, a boost of +20 Defense can be incredibly advantageous, particularly for characters like Maribel and Ruff who possess lower base defense attributes. This item becomes even more critical if you’re tackling higher difficulty settings. I highly recommend obtaining it before you journey on to the next Tablet fragment.
And that’s a wrap on this guide!
