Complete Guide to The Sims 4 Deck the Palms Event: Participation Details and Rewards Explained

Deck the Palms marks the year-end limited-time event for The Sims 4 in 2025, blending a festive holiday spirit with an engaging tropical twist. As indicated by its title, this event not only celebrates Christmas but also invites players to experience a fun beach-themed aesthetic. Following last year’s more traditional holiday event, this refreshing approach takes advantage of the recent collaboration between The Sims franchise and the iconic SpongeBob SquarePants series, allowing players to enjoy an exciting mix of charm and novelty.

This edition features the familiar character of Jasmine Holiday, who will distribute an array of complimentary in-game items simply for logging into The Sims 4 during the event. While the reasoning behind her endorsing the SpongeBob brand remains opaque, it aligns well with the common practice of teaming up iconic characters for promotional holiday activities.

In this article, we present our comprehensive guide to the Deck the Palms event in The Sims 4, detailing essential dates, participation guidelines, and a complete rewards breakdown!

Overview of the Deck the Palms Event

Deck the Palms is a time-limited login event scheduled from December 16th, 2025, to January 13th, 2026. During this period, players can unlock new rewards at various intervals, though the schedule varies to accommodate real-world holiday observances. For a detailed event timeline, check out the list below.

The event kicks off automatically when players load a fully updated version of The Sims 4 with an active internet connection. EA has worked to ensure that rewards from this event are securely linked to your EA Account, so it’s recommended to stay logged in while playing for a seamless recovery in case a reinstall becomes necessary.

Unlike previous iterations of similar events, Deck the Palms has eliminated gameplay quests as a prerequisite for earning exclusive rewards. Simply log into the game and access the event page to claim any unlocked rewards!

The last 11 days of the event serve as a “grace period, ”allowing new players ample opportunity to catch up on rewards. Keep in mind that you may only claim one day’s rewards for each day you log in, with January 4th marking the final opportunity to start logging in and still earn all available rewards. Late starters can still engage with the event but will miss out on rewards from the later days if they begin too late.

Do I Need Specific DLC to Participate in Deck the Palms?

All players of the base game of The Sims 4 can participate in the Deck the Palms event, regardless of their DLC ownership. However, certain rewards require specific DLC to utilize fully:

  • Businesses & Hobbies is necessary to access the Serious Business Tablet Machine (Day 5).
  • Cats & Dogs is essential for the Creature Comforts Pet Hoodie (Day 6).
  • Adventure Awaits is required for the My Big Voidcritter Slide (Day 8).

While the Cats & Dogs expansion has been available for some time, the more recent releases of Businesses & Hobbies and Adventure Awaits may pose a barrier for players who wait for sales to acquire new content.

Fortunately, EA assures that any rewards obtained during the event will be associated with your EA account, allowing them to appear in your game if you purchase the corresponding expansions in the future. While this may not entirely mitigate accessibility concerns, it is a comforting note for diligent players.

It’s also notable that the event does not mandate ownership of the Bikini Bottom Bundle or its associated kits (SpongeBob Kids’ Room Kit or SpongeBob’s House Kit) to receive all available rewards, despite these being the promoted new DLCs during the event.

Lastly, rest assured that if you own the Seasons expansion, your game does not have to reflect winter conditions to participate in this Christmas-themed event. As an example, my own save currently depicts an early spring, indicating that Sims might just enjoy a sunny holiday celebration regardless of the seasons’ dictates.
