Clair Obscur Expedition 33 showcases a series of intense and challenging boss encounters that demand strategic gameplay, especially when navigating higher difficulty levels. Players will notice that many areas are populated with formidable bosses, necessitating several attempts to fully grasp the timing required to parry their attacks.
The recent Game of the Year (GOTY) update introduced a new section in Expedition 33, brimming with NPC interactions, fresh weaponry, unique outfits, and engaging boss battles. Below is a guide highlighting the locations of these bosses and the rewards they offer upon defeat.
Comprehensive Guide to Verso’s Drafts Bosses in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Within the realm of Verso’s Draft, players will encounter a total of six bosses, the majority of which are enhanced Chromatic versions of regular enemies found throughout the game. These upsized adversaries possess more powerful attacks, proving to be quite challenging, particularly for players who may not be fully leveled.
If you’re at the max level and include Maelle in your party, employing the Last Chance followed by Stendhal will generally suffice to defeat these Chromatic bosses. The optimal level for this area is approximately 85 or higher. If you’re still in the 60s, consider tackling the Endless Tower beforehand. Completing its multiple stages will help you gain experience and prepare for the more formidable side areas where powerful bosses reside, including Renoir’s Drafts.
Once you’re adequately leveled, head to the eastern part of Lumiere to locate the entrance to Verso’s Drafts, ensuring you have the underwater diving ability for Esquie.
Chromatic Machinapieds

This boss is the enhanced form of the roaming enemies equipped with wheels. To locate it, make your way to the cave leading to the carousel, where you can obtain Esquie-themed outfits for all characters by conversing with the Very Very Cool Gestral. Within the sizeable room adjacent to Monsieur Frappe, you will find a pathway descending to the Chromatic Machinapieds. Upon defeating the boss, you will receive the following rewards:
x5
x2
Chromatic Franctale

Chromatic Franctale, the reinforced version of the long-legged enemies, poses unique challenges with a variety of attacks. Players who are over-leveled and have a robust build may find some of these attacks don’t appear. You can find this boss near the previous one; simply exit the carousel area, head outside, and turn right down a rope. You will easily spot the boss from a distance. Defeating this foe rewards you with:
- Colour of Lumina x5
- Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x2
Chromatic Barbasucette

This boss represents the empowered version of the enemies that carry lollipops. To encounter this boss, retrace your steps from the last battle, ascend the rope, and proceed to the external area where a large lake is situated. The Chromatic Barbasucette patrols this lake; engage it to start the conflict. Upon its defeat, you will obtain:
- Colour of Lumina x5
- Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x2
- Sucetton Weapon (Sky)
Chromatic Licrone

Missing a boss in this sector? It’s likely the Chromatic Licrone! To reach this boss, navigate left from the last encounter and scale the blocks. Climb as high as possible and cross wooden beams until you find paths to your left and right—choose the right one to arrive at the boss’s lair. Defeating the Chromatic Licrone will reward you with:
- Colour of Lumina x5
- Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x2
- Licorum Weapon (Maelle)
Unicorn feet

The Licornapieds is not a Chromatic boss; locating it will necessitate thorough exploration throughout Verso’s Drafts. Players must gather three Pieces of Cake to unlock the door adorned with eyes. One piece is acquired by solving the Esquie statue puzzle, the second is retrieved by trading a Toy Boat to specific Gestrals, and the last is obtained from the Very Very Cool Gestral after riding the carousel with each character.
Upon unlocking the door and proceeding inside, follow the only path until you reach an interactive train that leads to a Rest Point, adjacent to the boss arena. Defeating Licornapieds grants:
x1- Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x6
- Frenzy (Pictos)
Osquio

Osquio stands out as one of the most challenging bosses in the game, introducing a new mechanic during the fight. In the first phase, he unleashes a barrage of rapid attacks, compelling players to adapt their parry timing significantly. While mastering these timings is crucial, the real challenge arises in the second phase.
In the second phase, whenever Osquio causes damage, it inflicts a stack of Barbapapa on your character. This mechanic effectively reduces your subsequent attacks to only 1 damage until the stacks dissipate. Notably, using your Aim attack will not decrease the stacks, necessitating regular or skill-based attacks for effective combat.
The Pictos is essential for all members of your starting party and can be obtained by defeating Sprong, a world boss located south of Blades’ Graveyard and Forgotten Battlefield.

To locate Osquio, head to the Reverie Path (Rest Point). With the rest point to your front and the locked cake door behind you, turn right and ascend the path leading to a train. Interact with it to reach the Root of All Evil sub-area, where the boss fight can commence. Defeating Osquio yields:
- Esquiso Weapon (Verso)
- Osqui Outfit (Verso)
- Osqui Hairstyle (Verso)
You can also purchase the Osquio Outfit and Hairstyle for all characters by returning to the Rest Point in this sub-area and speaking with the merchant there.
