Have you started your journey in The Forge as a Human? It might be time to explore a different race. While all races can lead to a satisfactory gameplay experience, choosing less common races can unveil significant stat enhancements, unique abilities, and, most importantly, an aesthetically striking character.
In The Forge, the menu for race rerolls isn’t readily visible, which is likely what brings you here. This guide will detail how to reroll your race in The Forge, what benefits the various races offer, and their respective rarity. Let’s dive in!
Steps to Reroll Your Race in The Forge
To begin the race reroll process, click on the backpack icon located on the right side of your toolbar. If you’re playing on a computer, simply press the T key.
This action opens a menu displaying your inventory, index, achievements, and quests. Navigate to the yellow ‘Shop’ button on the right side, then scroll right until you find the ‘Rerolls’ section. Click on the ‘Go to Race Menu’ button at the bottom. Good job—you’ve reached the race selection area!
To reroll your race, simply click the large ‘Reroll’ button beneath your character’s display. Take note: this action will replace your current race, so proceed with caution!
There’s also a useful feature to consider: upon reaching level 30 and again at level 100, you unlock an additional race slot. This allows you to preserve your current race and explore rarer options without losing progress. If you’re nearing level 30, it might be wise to wait before rerolling—aiming for a rare race like Demon while starting as a Human could lead to disappointment.
While the reroll button is significant, don’t overlook the rest of the interface. On the right side, you’ll see the probability of rolling each race. Once you’ve settled on a race you like, the left side displays its perks, which generally include standard stat boosts and occasionally a special ability. Currently, I’m playing as a Shadow, which offers a 15% chance to transform into a shadow to evade damage whenever I’m hit.
While attempting to secure a rare race like Angel or Demon can be exciting, remember to align your choice with your gameplay style and loadout. For instance, playing as a Shadow not only makes my character visually appealing but also enhances my movement and attack speed at the cost of 10% health. If maintaining health is a concern during battles, this drawback might complicate your gameplay.
