As you embark on your adventures in The Forge, you’ll soon encounter an intriguing character known as the Bard. Unfortunately, this musical fellow finds himself in a bit of a bind—he’s misplaced his guitar! Tasked with the Lost Guitar quest, the Bard will ask for your assistance, but don’t be fooled; he doesn’t provide any clues about its whereabouts. To complicate matters, the guitar is hidden in a location that may not be on your radar yet.
Once you obtain the correct location, however, this quest is fairly straightforward. Plus, completing it comes with some enticing rewards, including access to one of the game’s most formidable pickaxes.
Initiating the Lost Guitar Quest
Your journey begins at Stonewake’s Cross, the game’s starting area, where you’ll find the Bard situated next to the potion shop and campfire. To kick things off, interact with him and select the “Give me the quest” option.
Locating the Bard’s Guitar
Your quest to retrieve the Bard’s missing guitar will lead you into the Cave. Inside, you’ll meet a character named Nord. To your left is Umut The Brave; your mission is to venture down the hallway situated to the left of Umut.
Look for two wooden columns adorned with moss that drapes towards the cave floor beside a pebble.Walk forward into the moss (it may appear a bit glitchy, but persist), and you’ll uncover the entrance to the Secret Cave.
Inside the Secret Cave, right next to a skeleton lay the missing guitar. Don’t forget to interact with the skeleton for some entertaining dialogue filled with humorous references!
After you’ve obtained the guitar, navigate back up the ladder near your initial drop point in the Secret Cave. Make your way to the right and return to Stonewake’s Cross. Speak with the Bard and select the “Here is your guitar” option to claim your rewards.
Awarded Rewards from the Bard
Your adventure won’t be in vain, as you will receive $1, 000, an Unknown Key, and a considerable amount of XP for your efforts. Most delightfully, the Bard will celebrate your success by performing a lively tune by the campfire, replacing his previous melancholic demeanor.
Understanding the Unknown Key
If you’re curious about how to utilize the Unknown Key—an item whose purpose eludes even the Bard—here’s what you should do. Head back into the Cave and this time, at the first fork, take the path to the right.
Traverse the cave until you reach a fork in the path. While you can choose either route, keep your focus on the gate visible along the left path.
Upon reaching the gate, interact with the lock to gain entry to the newly unlocked area: the Fallen Angel’s Cave. Accessing this space will cost you $125, 000, but it offers impressive boosts that make the investment worthwhile.
