Cities: Skylines 10th Anniversary: Paradox Announces Goodies and DLC for Players

Celebrating a Decade of Cities: Skylines

Paradox Interactive is marking the 10th anniversary of its groundbreaking city-building simulation, *Cities: Skylines*.Launched a decade ago, this title resurfaced the genre following a disappointing release from EA’s SimCity. With two sequels, various ports, and a wealth of downloadable content (DLC) under its belt, Paradox is set to honor fans with fresh offerings this March.

Anniversary Updates and New Content

In recognition of this milestone, both games developed by Colossal Order will receive free anniversary updates, alongside exciting paid DLC options. The celebrations kick off with *Cities: Skylines II*, which will launch its update on March 18. This update features a collection of new parks and buildings, all inspired by the anniversary theme. Alongside this, players can purchase several premium DLC packs, including:

  • Dragon Gate: Inspired by Chinese architecture and vibrant market quarters.
  • Leisure Venues: Introducing a variety of entertainment options and leisure spaces.
  • Mediterranean Heritage: Featuring architectural styles from Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Southern France, dating from the 15th to 19th centuries.
  • Radio Stations: Atmospheric Piano, Jade Road, and Feelgood Funk for your listening enjoyment.

Following this, *Cities: Skylines* will receive its own anniversary update on March 25. This update will enhance the game with dynamic parks that reflect the installed expansions, allowing for an individualized experience. Additionally, two paid DLC packs and one new radio station will be available for purchase:

  • Emerging Downtown: A pack designed to enrich busy downtown areas with diverse building sizes and styles.
  • Countryside: Enriching rural settings with charming small-town features, such as local libraries and markets.
  • Harvest Harmony Radio Station: A curated selection of country-inspired tracks, ideal for rural urban planning.

A Message from Colossal Order

“We founded Colossal Order with the dream of creating a city builder that offers players greater freedom and creativity in constructing their cities, ” stated Mariina Hallikainen, CEO of Colossal Order.“With *Cities: Skylines*, that vision became a reality. Our game’s success is largely due to the unwavering support from our fantastic community, enabling us to continuously expand this experience over the years.”

Free Play Period and DLC Subscription Model

March will also introduce a free promotional event on Steam, allowing anyone to enjoy both titles from March 20-24. Additionally, Paradox is set to launch a DLC subscription service on March 13, providing players with monthly access to all *Cities: Skylines* expansions for a consolidated fee, simplifying the purchasing process.
