Changing Weapon Skill at the Smithing Table in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Forsaken Hollows expansion for Elden Ring Nightreign has unveiled an array of exciting features, such as new Nightfarers, exploration avenues, “Shifting Earth, ”and a host of new environments and structures. Among these are the newly introduced Blacksmith Villages, which players may encounter during specific expeditions tailored for this downloadable content.

While most locations predominantly offer boss battles and enemies that yield Dormant Power upon defeat, the Blacksmith Villages provide an extra advantage. Here, players can discover Smithing Tables capable of altering the weapon skills of all Nightfarers. However, accessing this valuable resource necessitates the discovery of a flame, a task that can prove challenging within the expansive world of Elden Ring Nightreign.

To access a Blacksmith Village, you must select either the Balancers or Dreglord expedition types while ensuring that the Great Hollow Shifting Earth is not active. Upon launching your expedition, check your map for a distinctive icon featuring small trees, indicating the village’s presence. It’s worth noting that these villages may present varied elemental challenges, which can influence the types of enemies and bosses players will face.

Blacksmith Village

Upon arriving at the village, the Smithing Table can be located either at the top of the area or near the entrance. When you approach the table, you’ll receive a prompt indicating the need for heat from a forge. Finding this heat source is typically straightforward, especially when adventuring in groups. You’ll be searching for a stone fireplace displaying a burned-out flame with a white light inside that you can interact with.

This fireplace is often positioned along the paths winding through the village. Once you successfully ignite the flame, return to the Smithing Table, where you can select any weapon from your inventory to change its skill.

In Trios mode, players only need to find the flame once, allowing everyone in the party to modify their weapon skills simultaneously. After you’ve made the change, there will be an option to revert back to the original skill if desired; however, once the table is accessed again, the Smithing Table cannot be used for further adjustments.

It’s important to note that different elemental villages provide weapon skills corresponding to the village’s theme, which can be advantageous against specific enemies, such as the Nightlord. This strategic element adds depth to gameplay, enhancing combat effectiveness against formidable foes.
