“Can’t say Wimbledon trophy holds a candle to volunteering at my kid’s school”: Serena Williams credits daughters Olympia & Adira as her greatest joys
Despite her illustrious tennis career, Serena Williams has expressed that being a mother to her daughters brings her more joy than anything else.
In August 2023, Williams welcomed her second daughter, Adira River, after retiring from professional tennis at the 2022 US Open. Her emotional affair was attended by her and husband Alexis Ohanian’s first child, daughter Olympia.
Despite being busy with her family life, the former World No. 1 has managed to pursue her passion for beauty and fashion through the launch of her own makeup brand, WYN Beauty.
In a feature for American beauty magazine Byrdie, Serena Williams revealed her new venture and discussed the different sources of inspiration that led to its creation. She shared that becoming a mother to Olympia had shifted her perspective on beauty, as they bonded over experimenting with new makeup looks together.
“The way I talk to myself about beauty has certainly changed throughout my life, and it will continue to evolve. Motherhood has allowed me to look at beauty through the eyes of my daughter, Olympia,”Serena Williams said.
“We’re always experimenting with makeup together, and I think about how these moments will be part of both of our beauty journeys,”she added.
The American also recognized her daughters as her primary sources of joy, stating that the satisfaction of volunteering at Olympia’s school far surpassed the feeling of winning a Wimbledon title.
“My kids. I can’t say that a Wimbledon trophy holds a candle to volunteering at my kid’s school,”she said.
