Bobby Green reacts to Jorge Masvidal warning Justin Gaethje about breaking his orbital in a potential matchup
Bobby Green, a UFC lightweight, briefly responded to Jorge Masvidal’s claim that he could potentially fracture Justin Gaethje’s orbital in a theoretical matchup.
In November 2019, Masvidal achieved a historic feat by competing against Nate Diaz for the first BMF title in the main event of UFC 244. ‘Gamebred’ dominated the fight for three rounds, until a cut forced the Stockton native to suffer a TKO loss due to a doctor’s stoppage.
Despite never defending the title, Masvidal left the UFC, paving the way for Gaethje to face Dustin Poirier for the vacant throne in July 2023. In an impressive display, ‘The Highlight’ secured victory with a second-round head-kick knockout.
When questioned by Lowkick MMA during an interview, Jorge Masvidal was asked to consider a potential BMF vs. BMF clash with Justin Gaethje. In response, he stated:
“If you put BMF against BMF, if you put me against Gaethje in there, I would break his f*cking orbital, and I would f*cking chop him up.”
ESPN re-posted Masvidal’s quote on Instagram, prompting a response from UFC lightweight Bobby Green in the comment section where he voiced his disagreement with ‘Gamebred’.

Upcoming Fights for Justin Gaethje, Jorge Masvidal, and Bobby Green
On April 13, Justin Gaethje is determined to make history by successfully defending the BMF title. In order to accomplish this, ‘The Highlight’ will have to defeat former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway in a highly-anticipated matchup on the main card of the UFC 300 pay-per-view event.
Bobby Green is set to compete on the preliminary card for UFC 300 later in the evening. He will face off against Jim Miller, a fellow well-regarded veteran who has also fought at UFC 100 and UFC 200. Miller is looking to continue his two-fight winning streak, while ‘King’ is looking to bounce back from his recent loss against Jalin Turner.
In April 2023, Jorge Masvidal stepped into the octagon for his last fight against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287. Following a unanimous decision loss, Masvidal made the decision to retire from MMA and removed his gloves in the ring.
Despite this, Masvidal has not announced his retirement from combat sports. He is scheduled to fight Nate Diaz in a 10-round boxing match on June 1, in a highly anticipated rematch between two former UFC fighters known as the BMFs. The fight will take place at the KIA Forum in Inglewood, California.
