ASRock Launches Stable BIOS v4.10 Featuring AGESA 1.3.0.0a for AM5 Motherboards

ASRock has introduced a new stable BIOS update designed to enhance memory compatibility and prevent boot issues with Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series processors.

ASRock Unveils Stable BIOS Version 4.10 for 600 and 800-Series AM5 Motherboards

Just two weeks prior, ASRock launched BIOS version 4.07 in a beta phase, featuring the latest AMD AGESA 1.3.0.0a firmware. As of yesterday, they have released the stable version 4.10 with the same AGESA firmware, aimed at various AM5 motherboards, including models from the 600 and 800 series.

The release of BIOS version 4.10 is significant due to essential optimizations aimed at addressing increasing reports of CPU failures. Although the official release notes do not detail mitigations for CPU failures on AM5 motherboards, it is expected to rectify “boot failure”issues affecting “certain”CPUs. Earlier, the beta version (v4.07) hinted at similar issues without specifying which CPU models were impacted.

Besides tackling boot failures—potentially related to the Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 processors—the new BIOS update also improves memory compatibility. Currently, 25 ASRock AM5 motherboards, which encompass one X870 chipset model, 13 B850 chipset motherboards, six B650 motherboards, and five A620 chipset motherboards, have received this update. Over time, it is anticipated that ASRock will extend this BIOS update to additional models, particularly those featuring the X870/X870E chipsets.

This update follows ASRock’s acknowledgment of ongoing issues with Ryzen 9000 series CPUs on its motherboards. Frequent reports have surfaced regarding failures specifically affecting 800-series motherboards, particularly from ASRock, alongside other manufacturers. While these issues have raised concerns in the tech community, the overall Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) rates for the Ryzen 9000 series remain comparable to those of the Ryzen 7000 series and are considered within acceptable limits.
