Acer has made headlines with the launch of six new graphics card models from the Radeon RX 9070 series, showcasing both base and overclocked (OC) configurations that reach impressive boost clock speeds of up to 3.1 GHz.
Acer Introduces BiFrost and Nitro Radeon RX 9070 Series; Nitro RX 9070 XT OC Priced at $829
As a long-time partner of AMD, Acer has unveiled an exciting new collection of RDNA 4 GPUs that include the latest BiFrost and Nitro variations. While the company has a history of creating AMD graphics cards, it has not been as prominent as some of its main competitors. However, with this launch, Acer presents a total of six distinct models, divided evenly between the BiFrost and Nitro options.
The lineup features two Nitro versions for both the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, alongside a BiFrost version for each model. The BiFrost editions emphasize superior aesthetics and advanced cooling solutions, while the Nitro range is tailored for mainstream consumers, offering a robust specification set.
Spotlight on the BiFrost Editions
Beginning with the BiFrost models, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB stands out with its triple-fan cooling system and an elegant design, highlighted by silverfish accents around the middle fan. This cooler incorporates FrostBlade 4.0 fans with a counter-spin configuration, optimizing heat dissipation. The card measures approximately 295 mm in length and occupies a 2.5-slot space. With factory overclocking reaching up to 3.1 GHz, this model is engineered for high-performance gaming experiences.

Similarly, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB boasts a comparable design but uses two 8-pin power connectors instead of three found on the XT variant. Interestingly, both models are rated for a power consumption of 340W, despite the RX 9070 typically requiring less power under standard conditions. The specifications allow for these connectors, alongside the PCI-E x16 slot, to effectively deliver the required power, although it limits overclocking potential compared to the RX 9070 XT OC.
Nitro Series Overview
Next up is the Acer Nitro series, which includes both non-OC and OC variants for each RX 9070 card. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC, like its BiFrost counterpart, features a triple-fan design with a maximum boost clock of 3.1 GHz, maintaining a 2.5-slot size similar to the BiFrost. It, too, is powered by three 8-pin connectors and has a total design power (TDP) of 340W. The non-OC Nitro RX 9070 XT is rated slightly lower, at 304W, while still utilizing three 8-pin ports. Without the factory overclocking, this model supports a boost up to 2970 MHz and a gaming clock of up to 2.4 GHz.

The two additional Nitro models, the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB, offer boost clocks of up to 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz, respectively. The OC model operates at 245W while the non-OC version is rated at 220W, yet both share the same design aesthetics.
While pricing details for the entire RX 9070 series have yet to be disclosed, the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB is set to retail at a significant $829.99. Given this context, the BiFrost editions are expected to command even higher prices. Currently, Acer has not provided specifics regarding the release date for these graphics cards, but the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC is anticipated to be available in the U. S.starting in April.
