New Launch: BiFrost and Nitro Radeon RX 9070 Models – Key Specs and Pricing

Acer, a well-known board partner for AMD, has unveiled a fresh collection of RDNA 4 GPUs that include the cutting-edge BiFrost and Nitro editions. Although Acer has participated in the AMD graphics card market for several years, this latest initiative showcases its commitment to innovation, providing six distinct models across two lines—three for the higher-end segment and three for the mainstream market.

Diving into the BiFrost Editions

The lineup consists of two premium Nitro editions for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070, plus a BiFrost edition for each model. Designed with aesthetics and effective cooling in mind, the BiFrost editions stand out with their advanced features. In particular, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB boasts a triple-fan cooling configuration complemented by a sleek design and eye-catching silverfish accents.

This robust model, factory-overclocked to 3.1 GHz, is designed for gamers seeking high-performance capabilities. On the other hand, the standard BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB shares a nearly identical design but reduces the power connectors to two 8-pin slots. Despite the RX 9070 requiring less power, both models are rated at an impressive 340W, highlighting their potential for overclocking—especially the RX 9070 XT OC variant.

Nitro Series Overview

Next in line, the Acer Nitro series introduces both OC and non-OC variants for each RX 9070 card. The Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC also features a triple-fan setup and matches the BiFrost model’s dimensions at 2.5 slots. Like the BiFrost, it supports a maximum boost clock of 3.1 GHz and is powered by three 8-pin connectors with a similar 340W TDP.

On the other hand, the non-OC Nitro RX 9070 XT is less power-hungry, rated at 304W, and can achieve up to 2.97 GHz in boost mode while still utilizing three 8-pin connectors. The Nitro RX 9070 OC and Nitro RX 9070 16 GB complete the series, offering boost clocks of 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz, respectively. The OC variant is rated at 245W while the non-OC counterpart is rated at 220W, with both models showcasing an identical aesthetic design.

Pricing and Availability Insights

While Acer has not disclosed comprehensive pricing details for all models, the Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB is set to retail at a significant US$829.99. It is anticipated that the BiFrost editions will carry a higher price tag due to their premium features. Currently, specifics regarding the release schedule remain unconfirmed, but the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC is expected to hit the U. S.market in April.
