The Professional RTX 5000 MXM continues to be available for purchase in various regions, including China. While primarily designed for embedded systems, users can enhance their desktop setups by utilizing an MXM to PCIe adapter to incorporate this powerful GPU.

ZOTAC has garnered attention by showcasing its latest Blackwell-powered MXM form-factor RTX PRO 5000 GPU at Computex. Despite launching this new model, the company still holds a significant inventory of the older workstation graphics card, the MXM variant of the RTX 5000. This card, built on the Ada Lovelace architecture, is now available on Chinese e-commerce platforms and is specifically tailored for workstation applications.

According to reports from @realVictor_M, the MXM card is listed for approximately 33, 999 Yuan, translating to about US$4742. This MXM PCB includes critical components, such as the GPU package and memory, and is powered through the MXM 3.1 Type-B slot found on laptop motherboards, distinguishing it from the conventional PCIe x16 slot on desktop boards. While desktop variants of the RTX 5000 are available, this MXM version is primarily aimed at mobile workstations.

For users seeking flexibility, ZOTAC also provides an MXM to PCIe x16 adapter, which features an MXM 3.1 Type-B port along with a 16-pin power connector, typical of higher-end RTX 40/50 series GPUs. This adapter facilitates the installation of the MXM RTX 5000 into a desktop motherboard, albeit with performance limitations compared to its desktop counterpart. The adapter is equipped with four DisplayPort (DP) outputs and additional ports for enhanced connectivity.

Priced at 1, 299 Yuan (approximately US$181), this adapter proves advantageous for users who utilize both laptop and desktop workstations. The RTX 5000 MXM model boasts impressive specifications, delivering robust computing capabilities. However, its performance closely aligns with the GeForce RTX 4080, featuring 9728 CUDA cores and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, alongside 304 Tensor cores and 76 RT cores. In contrast, the standard desktop variant offers significantly more power with 12, 800 CUDA cores, 32 GB of GDDR6 memory, and higher quantities of ROPs, Tensor cores, and RT cores. Nevertheless, utilizing an MXM to PCIe x16 adapter allows for operational versatility across both systems.
