“Zero Character” – Mido from Love is Blind Habibi Critiques Nour Post-Breakup

Netflix debuted its new reality series, Love is Blind Habibi, on October 10, featuring contestants from the Arab world who are on a quest for love that transcends physical appearances.

By the fourth episode, a number of singles had developed strong connections and became engaged outside the pods. However, amidst six couples who got engaged, three unfortunately chose to end their relationships in the subsequent two episodes.

In episode 7 of Love is Blind Habibi, all three engaged couples came together again. They reflected on their experiences so far and were joined by their fellow cast members, Karim, Nour, and Mido.

Initially engaged after leaving the pods, Nour and Mido faced challenges due to their contrasting personalities, leading to their breakup by episode 5.

When asked about their lives post-breakup, Mido revealed that he had met someone new, while Nour remarked that she wasn’t the type to lower her standards just a day after their split.

Mido interpreted Nour’s comments as an attempt to diminish his narrative. While mimicking her, he expressed in his confessional that she showed “zero character.”He stated:

“‘Like, actually this is my standard, this is my standard’. Zero character.”

Reactions from Mido and Nour Following Their Split on Love is Blind Habibi

In episode 7 of Love is Blind Habibi, Mido mentioned that he was dating a woman from Egypt whom he described as “extremely pretty.”Nour suspected that he was merely trying to provoke jealousy with his claim, commenting:

“He comes in ready with the script that he made up, and he’s reciting it, and I’m… in another world… A mountain doesn’t shake from the wind.”

After hearing Mido’s tale, Safa inquired if Nour had met anyone since their breakup. Nour quipped:

“Do you think I have such standards? I meet someone in one day? Sorry?”

During their exchange, Daunia posed the question about what valuable lessons they had learned from the show.

With a hint of sarcasm, Mido replied:

“Love is never blind.”

He subtly criticized Nour, implying that some individuals only talk without acting on their words. Daunia echoed Mido’s sentiments (which seemed directed at Nour), suggesting that some contestants were too focused on physical appearance rather than deeper connections.

Karim praised both Nour and Mido for their maturity in deciding to call it quits when things were not working between them. He commented:

“But I respect both Nour and Mido. They met each other and said that it wouldn’t work out. You guys made a conscious decision. I mean, not like you were hypnotized and… Really, you guys just said that it wouldn’t work out.”

Nour responded to Karim’s observation by declaring that no one should ever compromise their standards. She asserted:

“Me? I believe that whatever happens, one doesn’t have to. .. one doesn’t have to lower their standards. I have my standards.”

Curious about her statement, Karim asked if it was aimed at Mido, questioning if she felt he fell short of her expectations.

Some of her fellow cast members perceived Nour’s comments as inappropriate and arrogant. Chafic voiced his thoughts in a confessional, stating:

“You think other girls don’t have standards? You think they live in the street?”

To ease the growing tension, Safa promptly redirected the discussion, asking Karim about his future plans after the series.

All episodes of Love is Blind Habibi are currently streaming on Netflix.
