This evolving landscape necessitates regular updates to the tier lists for Zenless Zone Zero’s characters.

It’s crucial to acknowledge that while new Agents solidify their roles, some have the potential to significantly elevate the performance of existing characters or demote others. Therefore, this list will be continually refined to reflect these changes.
S-Tier Characters
The S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero represent the pinnacle of capability, adept at fulfilling their designated roles while seamlessly working in harmony with other units.
Miyabi
Miyabi ranks among the most effective characters in ZZZ, known for her quick Frost attacks and high damage output. While players need to invest time in mastering her intricacies, those who successfully harness her abilities can dominate the battlefield.
Astra Yao
As a versatile Support character, Astra Yao effectively collaborates with both Anomaly and Attack Agents. She can rapidly apply an ATK buff and facilitate swift transitions with her Quick Assist, enabling heightened damage outputs.
Cheek
Notably, Yanagi excels at activating Disorder without requiring a Shock effect on an Anomaly. As long as the target is afflicted by an Anomaly, she can readily trigger Disorder, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi.
Character Spotlight: Evelyn
Evelyn emerges as a formidable Attack character wielding Fire in Zenless Zone Zero. Her combat prowess relies heavily on Chain Attacks and her Ultimate ability, both of which can achieve astonishing damage outputs, bolstered by her Additional Ability that can increase her damage by up to 125%.
However, Evelyn is not without limitations. She requires specific team compositions to maximize her potential, as the lack of compatible characters can hinder her effectiveness. Additionally, her need for a Crit Rate threshold may impose restrictions on gear optimization. Despite these challenges, Evelyn remains competitive with premier DPS units in Zenless Zone Zero.
Jane Doe
Jane Doe outshines Piper in ZZZ thanks to her explosive Crit potential with Assault Anomalies, elevating her damage output compared to other comparable units. Her unique playstyle positions her in the upper echelon, standing shoulder to shoulder with Zhu Yuan and Ellen.
Burnice
As a Sub-DPS agent, Burnice excels by utilizing an intricate combo of Basic and EX Special Attacks. Through careful execution, she can rapidly compound Burn damage, even when she’s off the battlefield.
Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan is a DPS powerhouse who delivers rapid damage output via her Shotshells. Her synergy with Stun and Support characters enhances her effectiveness, particularly when paired with Qingyi and Nicole, who facilitate stuns and amplify damage respectively.
Caesar
Exemplifying the essence of a Defense Agent, Caesar combines formidable protective capabilities with buffs and debuffs. Her impact scales with Impact damage, providing crowd control and stunning effects that are invaluable in both defensive and offensive strategies.
Qingyi
Known for her ability to inflict Daze, Qingyi is a versatile Stunner that fits seamlessly into any squad containing Attack Agents. She can inflict considerable damage when successfully stunning foes, making her an invaluable asset in combat scenarios.
Lighter
Lighter stands out as a Stun Agent with excellent buffs tailored for Fire and Ice characters. Given the abundance of strong characters from these elements, he naturally secures a high position in the tier rankings.
Lycaon
As an Ice unit specializing in stun tactics, Lycaon leverages charged Basic and EX Special Attacks to impose Ice and Daze on targets, significantly contributing to Anomaly responses in battle.
His ability to lower enemy Ice resistance while boosting ally damage makes him a crucial inclusion for any Ice-centric team composition in Zenless Zone Zero.

Ellen
Ellen, an Attack Agent harnessing Ice, shines through her synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku. The combination of their abilities allows her to inflict significant damage, especially with her EX Special and Ultimate attacks. Unfortunately, her popularity has diminished due to power creep from newer characters like Miyabi.
Lucy
Lucy serves as a proficient Support unit capable of contributing off-field damage. By deploying her Guard Boars, she can enhance the team’s ATK for a brief duration while simultaneously applying consistent off-field damage. Her effectiveness significantly increases when paired with supporting characters that activate her Additional Ability.
Harumasa
Initially available for free, Harumasa is a dynamic Electric-Attack unit who requires specific conditions to unleash his true combat potential.
Soukaku
In her role as a Support Agent, Soukaku specializes in applying buffs, particularly enhancing Ice Anomalies on enemies through her multifaceted icy attacks. Partnering with Ice units like Ellen or Lycaon amplifies her utility and effectiveness in battle.
Rina
Operating as a Support character, Rina offers valuable damage output while granting her teammates PEN, which allows them to bypass enemy defenses. Her combination of damage and the ability to generate Shock Anomaly makes her a strategic asset for Electric-focused teams.
Nicole
Nicole excels as an Ether Support character within Zenless Zone Zero. With abilities that can entrap enemies within her energy fields, she provides substantial value for AoE units like Nekomata by weakening enemy defense and boosting Ether damage. However, her effectiveness diminishes against non-Ether DPS, who will not fully benefit from her skills.
Seth
Seth offers utility as a shielder and support character, yet his standing is not on par with top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche lies within Anomaly DPS teams where ATK buffers can enhance overall performance.
Piper
Piper’s kit revolves around her EX Special Attack, which stands out as one of the most powerful in Zenless Zone Zero. With her spinning Assault technique, she can heavily inflict damage, especially when partnered with other Anomaly characters for increased Disorder frequency.
Grace
Grace, an exceptional Anomaly character, efficiently generates Shock effects, delivering consistent damage whenever she or her allies strike the affected enemies. Though still potent, ongoing releases of newer Anomaly Agents have seen her ranking slightly drop.
Ugly
Koleda, a capable Fire/Stun character, can rapidly compound Daze effects on enemies, making her suitable for various team compositions, particularly those that include another Fire unit. Her unique moves and enhanced performance alongside Ben bolster her overall viability.
Anby
Known for her comedic flair, Anby also proves to be a reliable Stun unit during encounters. Her swift combos are effective, but she can be easily interrupted compared to her counterparts, placing her at a lower tier despite her skills.
Soldier 11
Soldier 11 provides a straightforward gameplay experience in Zenless Zone Zero. Although effective in damage dealing through Fire-infused attacks, her mechanics can feel redundant, particularly vulnerable in high-paced play scenarios where timing is key.
B-Tier Characters
B-Tier characters exhibit certain strengths but often fall short compared to superior alternatives.
Ben
Ben, the sole defensive character available at launch, offers unique mechanics that allow him to parry and retaliate against foes. However, despite his offensive capabilities, Ben lacks versatility and impact compared to other characters, making timing and dodging more favorable for players.
Nekomata
Nekomata, as an Attack character, can unleash significant AoE damage, but she heavily relies on her teammates to maximize her effectiveness. Her elements and faction difficulties may limit her synergy as other supportive characters might not be readily available.
C-Tier Characters
C-Tier characters currently lack significant utility in Zenless Zone Zero.
Corin
Corin, an Attack character, excels in dealing Physical damage through continuous hits on Stunned enemies. Still, compared to stronger alternatives like Nekomata and Piper, her overall viability remains limited.
Billy
Billy’s energetic presence may charm players, but as an Attack unit, his damage output is underwhelming relative to his peers. Although his Chain Attacks can be impactful in fast-paced team compositions, many alternatives offer greater damage potential.
Anton
Anton possesses a compelling Core Skill that allows him to repeatedly trigger Shock damage, but his effectiveness is compromised by a lack of direct DPS. As a single-target unit, his performance does not favorably compare when the need for area damage arises.
