YouTube Enhances Premium Subscription with Exciting New Features
YouTube has unveiled a range of innovative experimental features designed specifically for its Premium subscribers, providing an enriched viewing experience that caters to users’ needs.
Introducing the “Jump Ahead”Feature
Among the standout additions is the “Jump Ahead” feature, allowing subscribers to leap directly to their preferred video segments. To utilize this feature, viewers can simply hit the seek-forward button on their keyboard or click the newly implemented “Jump Ahead”button on eligible videos. This exciting feature is available for use until February 5.
Picture-in-Picture for YouTube Shorts on iOS
For those using iOS devices, a picture-in-picture (PiP) mode has been introduced for YouTube Shorts. This allows users to watch Shorts in a floating window while multitasking with other applications. To activate PiP mode, start a YouTube Short and switch to another app. This feature will be available until February 19.
Smart Downloads for Offline Viewing
The “Shorts Smart Downloads” feature also makes its debut, enabling automatic saving of recommended Shorts for offline access on iOS devices. Once activated, users can find their downloaded Shorts in the “Smart Downloads”section of the YouTube app. This feature is also available until February 19.
Enhanced Audio Quality for Music Videos
In addition to video enhancements, Premium subscribers will have access to high-quality audio streaming at 256kbps for music videos, further elevating the overall viewing experience.
Increased Playback Speed for Mobile Users
Mobile users are now granted the option to watch videos at a speed of 4x, ideal for those wanting to consume content like podcasts or slow-paced videos more rapidly.
Participate in YouTube’s Feedback Studies
YouTube is actively seeking feedback from its users regarding the new features and general services. Selected participants will receive a questionnaire, and upon successful completion, they will be rewarded with gift cards as appreciation for their insights.
New Offer for Google One Subscribers
In addition to the above features, Google is extending a special offer for its Google One users in the United States. Subscribers purchasing the Google One Premium plan with a minimum of 2TB of storage, starting at $20/month, can enjoy YouTube Premium at a reduced rate of $11.99/month, down from the regular price of $13.99/month.
