YouTube Premium AI Feature Launch for Users in the US
Google is enhancing its request to attract more customers to YouTube Premium by integrating an increasing number of AI features into the platform. Following a recent price hike of up to 55% for the Premium subscription in various countries, YouTube is now providing an additional incentive for users to maintain their subscription or join the Premium service.
YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States are now gaining access to a unique feature that will not be accessible to non-Premium users. After spending some time in the experimental phase, YouTube is officially launching the AI conversational tool “Ask”exclusively for YouTube Premium users in the US.
This new feature, currently available on Android devices, allows users to gain deeper insights into the videos they are viewing. For example, users can utilize the “Ask”AI tool to inquire about the ingredients in a recipe video they are watching. Additionally, Premium subscribers can request AI-generated summaries of the video or suggestions for related content.
In an official announcement on social media platform X, YouTube stated:
Our conversational AI tool is expanding to all U.S. YouTube Premium members w/ Android devices
Use it to dive deeper into the content you ❤️ by asking questions about what you’re watching or for recommendations for similar videos!!
The most exciting aspect of this AI tool is that it enables users to enhance their understanding of the video content they are viewing, all without leaving the YouTube app.
If you are a YouTube Premium subscriber in the US, simply tap the “Ask”button located beneath the video player. From there, you can select from various prompts or pose your own question regarding the video. This feature is similar to the “Ask Photos”tool found in the Google Photos app.
The current cost of the YouTube Premium subscription is $13.99 per month for individuals. If you are a Premium member, be sure to try out this innovative AI tool.
We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! Have you used the new feature, and were you satisfied with the results it generated for you?
