“You Took an L, Period” — TikToker Shares Reasons for Disliking J. Cole Like Kendrick’s Views on Drake

On October 14, TikTok personality Veebars shared a video outlining her disdain for J. Cole, stating she feels the same way Kendrick Lamar does about Drake. In this video, which was later reposted on X by @MrBusby4o8, she expressed her critical views, saying:

“I dislike J. Cole the same way Kendrick dislikes Drake. It’s been this way since the start of his career. My main issue with Jermaine has always been that he comes off as a huge poser. That’s precisely what his latest track is about. He’s pretending like he didn’t take an L during his rap feud.”

In her remarks, she pointed to J. Cole’s sudden withdrawal from the conflict that flared between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

Veebars elaborated further by stating:

“But let’s be clear, Jermaine, there are no half-measures in rap feuds. There are only winners or losers. By pulling that track, you took a loss. End of story. Don’t come back months later claiming to be pushing your pen.”

This video emerged shortly after Cole broke his silence regarding the feud by releasing his single, “Port Antonio,”on Instagram on October 9. In this track, he clarified his stance on the conflict, stating he stepped back to avoid being misrepresented by those looking to profit from the drama.

In the TikTok video shared on October 14, Veebars voiced her frustration regarding J. Cole’s decision to abandon his rapper peers during the feud. She added:

“People think I’m avoiding conflict. You brought a toy water gun to one of the most significant rap battles since Drake versus Pusha T. You’re trying to play it off as just an internet spectacle to save your image.”

She strongly concluded her criticism with:

“You’re making it seem like the rivalry was merely for attention and clicks. The truth is, it’s about the competitive spirit. You can’t claim the throne if you’re not willing to fight for it. You want the crown handed to you, like it’s a birthright, which is just wrong.”

Veebars’ remarks came on the heels of J. Cole’s new single “Port Antonio,”where he navigated the long-standing rivalry between Drake and Lamar. In his verses, Cole made it clear that he continues to support Drake, acknowledging, “Drake has done a lot for me,” and openly stated he’s unashamed of that.

Furthermore, he pointed out how certain individuals were exploiting the conflict for monetary gain, wanting to see a fierce showdown. Cole emphasized that had he taken sides openly, he risked not just the loss of a battle but also jeopardizing his friendship with Drake.

Cole mentioned that preserving friendships played a significant role in his decision to step back from the controversy. He also dismissed rumors suggesting he favored Lamar or that his relationship with Drake had soured due to his approach during the feud.

The collaboration “First Person Shooter”between Drake and Cole initiated this ongoing tension, as Cole referred to the three artists as “the big three,”triggering Lamar’s irritation. In response, Lamar teamed up with Future and Metro Boomin for “Like That.”According to various sources, J. Cole distanced himself from the feud when it escalated, as indicated in his recent track “Port Antonio.”

Currently, J. Cole is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated album, “The Fall Off,”which has been postponed indefinitely without a confirmed release date.
