- The official Instagram account for You shared two new posters for the upcoming fifth season.
- Netflix reaffirmed that You Season 5 is set to premiere in 2025, as initially announced.
- Fans expressed disappointment over the lack of a specific release date for the new season.
In 2025, the enigmatic Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley, will return for one final season on Netflix. Despite concerns regarding potential delays, You Season 5 is confirmed for release next year.
Recently, fans of the acclaimed psychological thriller were dismayed upon discovering that the “Coming Soon”label had been removed from You. This prompted fears of a postponement for the series’ concluding season. However, Netflix stood firm on its commitment to the 2025 release, unveiling a new poster emblazoned with the year, which assuaged concerns about a delay.
The Netflix team’s official Instagram account showcases two striking posters. The first features a torn newspaper highlighting Joe’s face, surrounded by haunting images of characters from previous seasons, most of whom met grim fates. Notable deceased characters include Love Quinn (played by Victoria Pedretti), Tom Lockwood (played by Greg Kinnear), Guinevere Beck (played by Elizabeth Lail), and Delilah Alves (played by Carmela Zumbado). Interestingly, the only living figures depicted are Nadia (played by Amy-Leigh Hickman), who was framed for her boyfriend’s murder, and Marienne Bellamy (played by Tati Gabrielle), whom Joe mistakenly believed to be dead—she had only taken beta-blockers to avoid detection.
The second poster expands on its predecessor’s motifs, with additional insights drawn from the first. It features objects such as Beck’s book, The Dark Face of Love, a tube of red lipstick, a watch, heart-shaped glasses reminiscent of those worn by Candace (played by Ambyr Childers), along with other chilling artifacts linked to Joe’s victims.
Within the posters, several letters were highlighted or colored red. The first poster bears the phrase, “Secrets do not stay buried,”while the second ominously states, “goodbye.”The inclusion of “2025”reinforces that the anticipated final season will not be postponed, although fans still seek a specific launch date. Many speculate it could premiere in February, echoing the launch timeline of Season 4, but uncertainty remains.
With fans keenly awaiting You Season 5, it brings relief to know the series is indeed on track for its 2025 debut. Nevertheless, the absence of a concrete premiere date continues to frustrate the audience. There is much speculation regarding Joe’s fate—will he ultimately face consequences for his actions or find redemption with Kate Galvin (played by Charlotte Ritchie)? Other unresolved plots, including Marienne’s survival and Nadia’s predicament, contribute to the anticipation. Viewers are particularly interested in how Kate will react once she uncovers Joe’s dark secrets.
As one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases, You Season 5 promises to captivate audiences once more. Fans are hopeful for a definitive release date announcement soon, helping them gauge just how long they must wait to witness the thrilling conclusion.
You Season 5 will premiere on Netflix in 2025.
