“You never see guys take real risks” – Kade Ruotolo blasts opponents’ overly defensive approach against him
Despite being some of the most skilled grapplers in the world, many are reluctant to engage with Kade Ruotolo for some unknown reason.
Despite the split-second nature of the mistake, Ruotolo was able to quickly capitalize and secure one of his many incredible submission holds, whether it be targeting the neck or a limb.
Due to the 21-year-old’s daring innovation, it is not unexpected that his competitors are frequently hesitant out of concern for being substituted.
During an interview with ONE Championship, the Atos standout expressed his frustration with his previous opponents who utilized passive strategies during their fights.
“Even in the Matheus [Gabriel] match. Even Tommy [Langaker] a bit more, but only when he was in comfortable positions. Matheus was really defensive. You never see guys wrestle up or go for under hooks, or take any real risks.”
Fortunately for Kade Ruotolo, his upcoming opponent is known for their relentless pursuit of submission and will undoubtedly put everything on the line to secure it.
On Prime Video this Friday, ONE Fight Night 21: Eersel vs. Nicolas will showcase a 180-pound catchweight grappling match between Ruotolo and the renowned Francisco Lo.
Be sure not to miss the highly anticipated event at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on April 5, airing live in US primetime. This event is available at no extra cost to current Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Can Francisco Lo Finally Halt Kade Ruotolo’s Unbeaten Streak in ONE Championship?
Despite not being able to compete for Kade Ruotolo’s belt, Francisco Lo is determined to leave a lasting impression in his promotional debut and will give it his all.
The Checkmat representative made it explicitly clear that he will be striving for victory in the most definitive manner possible.

“I’m not going to say what the submission will be, but I already have it in mind, and I’m very excited, just waiting for the day of the fight to arrive.”
