In addition to this, fresh updates to the Xbox Game Bar and the incorporation of GeForce NOW into the Xbox app signify further progress in Microsoft’s gaming ecosystem.
Streamlined Cloud Gaming on Xbox App
A standout feature in this update is the enhanced cloud gaming experience for PC users. When players choose to stream games from the Xbox app, they will now encounter a convenient pop-up window that lets them select their preferred streaming service. For instance, selecting the cloud play for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle prompts users to choose between Microsoft’s cloud servers and Nvidia’s GeForce NOW.
The pop-up only appears for titles that are compatible with both platforms. Opting for the GeForce NOW button will redirect players to Nvidia’s service, while selecting the Xbox option will promptly launch the game within the Xbox app using cloud technology.

Enhanced Game Bar Features
Microsoft has also upgraded the Settings widget in the Game Bar, enriching the user experience with an updated interface that aligns with the overall aesthetic enhancements of the widget UI. This revamped widget empowers PC gamers to swiftly modify settings such as audio levels, screen brightness, and enable Compact Mode. It even includes options to manage connected devices and reveal a virtual keyboard.
Introducing Microsoft Edge Game Assist
A notable addition is the upcoming Microsoft Edge Game Assist, which simplifies web browsing for players wanting to access guides or any online resources. This feature will sync with users’ existing Edge browser, allowing them to seamlessly navigate through their favorites, saved passwords, browsing history, and more.
Celebrating Xbox Play Anywhere
Microsoft continues to champion its Xbox Play Anywhere initiative. To date in 2025, over 70 new titles have launched with this feature, enabling gamers to purchase a game once and enjoy it across both Xbox and Windows platforms. This initiative also includes cross-platform achievements, shared saves, and downloadable content, enhancing the value for players.

Upgrades to Xbox Rewards Program
The Xbox Rewards program has introduced an exciting upgrade in the gift card segment. Players can now redeem their Rewards points for an almost limitless amount ranging between $5 and $100. To take advantage of this new feature, simply select the “Custom”option located within the Xbox Gift Card section of the Rewards Hub.
