Xbox Titles Shine in Sales Rankings

Further down the list, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 also secured their spots in the top ten.
Impressively, Oblivion Remastered has rapidly ascended to become the third-best-selling game of 2025 thus far, surpassed only by Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Moreover, in the US market, four out of the top five best-selling titles on PlayStation this month were actually Xbox-optimized games, indicating a cross-platform appeal that is noteworthy.
Active User Engagement and Competitive Edge
In the realm of monthly active user engagement, Microsoft’s Call of Duty dominated both the Xbox and PlayStation platforms. Additionally, Oblivion Remastered claimed the fifth position among the most-played games on Steam, while the top position was occupied by Schedule I.
This clear trend underscores Microsoft’s robust software sales numbers. However, it’s important to note that PlayStation continues to maintain its lead in hardware sales, despite an overall decline in hardware expenditures when compared to the previous year’s performance in April 2024.
As these developments unfold, it is evident that Xbox is carving out a significant niche in the gaming landscape, while the competition remains fierce, particularly in the hardware market. The implications of these trends will be keenly observed as both companies continue to innovate and enhance their offerings.
