Xbox Game Pass Will Remove 8 Titles on March 15

Overview of Upcoming Xbox Game Pass Departures

  • At least eight games, including Evil West, will exit Xbox Game Pass on March 15.
  • The removals will particularly affect Yakuza enthusiasts, as titles Yakuza 5 Remastered and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life join the list—only weeks after the service previously lost Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 remasters.
  • The comprehensive list of games departing in mid-March is set to be finalized on March 4.

This March, Xbox Game Pass subscribers should brace for the departure of Evil West, along with seven other popular titles, on March 15. This recent wave of removals marks a challenging period for Yakuza fans within the Game Pass ecosystem, coming at the heels of previous losses.

Every month, Microsoft updates its subscription offerings, rotating games in and out of the service. The most recent departures occurred on February 28, which saw nine games—including Maneater, Space Engineers, and the Yakuza remasters—removed from the lineup.

The upcoming relinquishments on March 15, as identified in the latest updates from the Xbox Cloud Gaming app, include the following titles: Evil West, Lies of P, MLB The Show 24, No More Heroes 3, Solar Ash, and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, alongside the aforementioned Yakuza games. Notably, these games have been part of the Game Pass library for at least a year, with their addition dates no later than March 2024.

Continued Exodus of Yakuza Titles from Xbox Game Pass

Previously, on February 28, Xbox Game Pass saw the loss of Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 remasters. With the upcoming removals on March 15, only four titles from the beloved Yakuza franchise will remain available: Yakuza 0, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Kiwami versions of the first two games.

For subscribers focused on achievement hunting, titles like Solar Ash and SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom can be completed in a relatively short timeframe. However, Yakuza 5 presents a significant challenge; completing it in full can stretch beyond 150 hours, making it one of the longer entries in the series to fully conquer, surpassed only by Yakuza 0 and Yakuza 3 in terms of time investment.

The “Leaving Soon”section in the Xbox Cloud Gaming app has frequently been criticized for its incomplete nature, raising the possibility that additional titles may vanish from the service on March 15. An official confirmation listing of the departing titles will be released on March 4, alongside the first showcase of Xbox Game Pass new arrivals for March 2025.
