Overview of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders
- The engaging game Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is now a part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lineup.
- Following in the footsteps of its acclaimed predecessor, this title also launches as a day-one Xbox Game Pass release.
Starting today, January 21, members of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can dive into Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders. This exciting release marks the fifth title introduced to Microsoft’s gaming service in January 2025.
Created by Megagon Industries, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders serves as the sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill, which debuted in 2019 and rapidly became known as a standout in off-road racing gaming. Similar to its predecessor, the original game was made available on day one for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, maintaining a strong presence for nearly five years.
After a brief hiatus of two and a half months since Lonely Mountains: Downhill left the platform, its successor arrives just in time to satisfy eager fans. Since the introduction of day-one releases in the summer of 2024, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is exclusively offered to PC Game Pass and Ultimate members, with an additional benefit of cloud gaming through Xbox Cloud Gaming, also available for XGP Ultimate users.

Gameplay Features
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders maintains the core premise of its predecessor, inviting players to master the art of racing down mountains with flair and speed. While players once navigated these adventures on a bike, the sequel requires them to ski down treacherous slopes, demonstrating skill in avoiding obstacles and taking daring jumps. Much like the first title, completing various challenges in Snow Riders will unlock additional gear, tracks, and customizations for the player experience.

Future Availability of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders in Xbox Game Pass Standard
In July 2024, Microsoft introduced Xbox Game Pass Standard, indicating that titles available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate may appear in the Standard tier with a delay of six to twelve months. While specific timelines can vary, a similar pattern has emerged for most titles. As a result, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders could potentially become accessible to Xbox Game Pass Standard subscribers around July 2025.
In the interim, several exciting titles will be arriving for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers before the month concludes. The first of these include Starbound and Gigantic: Rampage Edition on January 22, followed by Eternal Strands and Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap on January 28, and subsequently Shady Part of Me on January 29. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass will be saying farewell to several titles, including Anuchard and Darkest Dungeon, on January 31. More updates on Xbox Game Pass are anticipated during Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Developer Direct event on January 23.
