Overview of Upcoming Departures from Xbox Game Pass
- The Xbox Game Pass will remove at least eight titles on February 28, 2025.
- This includes the remastered versions of Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4.
- By March, six Yakuza games will still be available on Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers will soon see the departure of two Yakuza titles, along with six other games, at the end of February 2025. This change will affect players looking to experience early entries of the Yakuza series chronologically.
Typically, Microsoft refreshes its gaming catalog bi-weekly. The most recent update occurred on January 31, where six titles were removed, followed by another wave of seven games on February 15.
Upcoming Game Removals on February 28, 2025

Game | Added | Average Playtime |
---|---|---|
GRAY | September 2023 | 3–4 hours |
Maneater | February 2024 | 8–12 hours |
PAW Patrol World | March 2024 | 4–9 hours |
Space Engineers | February 2024 | 19–362 hours |
Warhammer 40, 000: Boltgun | March 2024 | 10–17 hours |

Yakuza 4 Remastered | January 2021 | 20–93 hours |
A significant portion of these departing games were recently added to Xbox Game Pass, within the last year. Both Yakuza games, added in early 2021, are leaving the service, while titles like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and GRIS entered the catalog more recently, in March and September 2023, respectively.
Six Yakuza Titles Will Remain on Xbox Game Pass in March 2025
After the removals, six Yakuza titles will still be available to subscribers on March 1, 2025. However, the absence of Yakuza 3 and 4 means players will no longer have the option to experience the franchise’s early entries chronologically without purchasing them. The remaining titles will include: Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 5 Remastered, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, often referred to as Yakuza 7 by fans.
Interestingly, Yakuza 5 Remastered will not be leaving the service alongside the other remastered titles, though the reasoning behind this decision remains unclear. As for future announcements, Microsoft is expected to officially confirm the next wave of removals during the February 18 announcement for Xbox Game Pass Wave 2. This date is significant as it coincides with the release of Avowed on the platform. Given the pattern observed in past announcements, it’s plausible that more titles could exit the library by the end of February.
