Microsoft has announced the new additions to Xbox Game Pass for both PC and consoles in the first half of April. Among them are some exciting titles to explore, including Lego 2K Drive, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the recently released indie game Harold Halibut, and others, for subscribers to enjoy.

These are the highlighted Game Pass titles for the upcoming weeks:

The release date for Lego 2K Drive (available on Cloud and Console) is April 3.

Regrettably, the game lacks sufficient content and its forceful microtransactions might deter parents seeking a casual game to play with their children. However, Lego 2K Drive is still worth considering, especially when it goes on sale, although it seems to be missing a few key elements that could have made it an even better game.

Harold Halibut will be released on April 16 for Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.

In the 90s, there was a surge of games such as The Neverhood that utilized stop-motion visuals to great success. However, the popularity of this trend eventually waned, likely due to the labor-intensive nature of stop-motion. Nevertheless, the new indie adventure game Harold Halibut aims to revive and elevate the use of stop-motion in gaming. Unlike its predecessors, which primarily relied on claymation, Harold Halibut boasts a more intricate and sophisticated style reminiscent of the works of Henry Selick (known for films like Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline).

In early April, these games will also be made accessible:

  • Superhot: Mind Control Delete (Cloud, Console, and PC) – April 2
  • Lil Gator Game (Cloud, Console, and PC) – April 4
  • EA Sports PGA Tour (Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S) EA Play – April 4
  • Kona (Cloud and Console) – April 9
  • Botany Manor (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – April 9
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) – April 11

Xbox Game Pass allows players to enjoy over 100 games for a monthly fee of 10 dollars. By upgrading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, players also gain access to Xbox Live Gold and EA Play. A complete list of available games for both console and PC can be found here. To subscribe, please click here.

Interestingly, Sony has not yet announced their complete lineup of PS Plus Extra and Premium titles for April. This information is typically released around the middle of the month. However, they have already disclosed two titles that will be available soon – Tales of Kenzera: Zau, which will be included as a Day 1 PS Plus addition, and the highly praised indie game Dave the Diver, which will make its debut on PlayStation.

Dave the Diver will be released on April 16 for both the PS4 and PS5.

“Dave the Diver is a one-of-a-kind ocean adventure game that merges the thrill of exploring the ocean with the challenges of managing a sushi restaurant. The game’s foundation is built on its core gameplay loop, engaging storyline, diverse characters, and captivating mini-games.”

Mark your calendars for the release of Tales of Kenzera: Zau (PS5) on April 23.

“Kenzera: Zau is a beautifully designed Metroidvania game that draws inspiration from African Bantu culture and the personal experiences of its creative director, Abubakar Salim. Salim, known for his role as Bayek in the Assassin’s Creed games, brings his unique perspective to this latest release from EA Originals. With a strong track record, this game is sure to offer an enchanting tale for players to experience.”

Sony currently provides three levels of PS Plus membership – Essential, Extra, and Premium. While the annual subscription fee for all three tiers has increased, the monthly cost remains unchanged. You can visit this link to view the games offered by each tier and enroll for a membership.
