Exciting Update: Xbox Consoles Support for Drives Over 16TB
Microsoft has rolled out a significant Alpha-Skip Ahead update for Xbox Insiders, introducing a range of enhancements, most notably, enabling support for external hard drives exceeding 16 TB. This update, identified as build 2502.250120-2200, allows gamers to connect and manage sizable storage options, facilitating the growth of expansive game libraries and application collections.
Reformatting Requirement for Larger Drives
For optimal performance with Xbox consoles, all drives larger than 16 TB must go through a reformatting process. Following this procedure, the system will partition the drive, leading users to see multiple storage units listed in their connected devices.
Expand Your Xbox Storage with Support for Larger Drives
We are enabling support for external USB drives larger than 16 TB, ensuring your favorite games are always ready to play! Newly formatted drives larger than 16 TB will be partitioned to utilize all available space for games and applications. As a result, these will display as multiple devices in the storage devices list.
Note: Drives exceeding 16 TB that have been previously formatted will not reflect this change unless reformatting is applied to harness the updated support for larger drives.
